I’ve been checking the Steamcharts.com numbers only since Microsoft refuses to share any of their stats with us, and they have been absolutely miserable. In a constant decline. Infinite is edging closer and closer to having less than 10k players at any time in a 24 hour period. Yesterdays peak was 10,428 and if the trend continues down then it will likely be below 10k any day now.
For context Apex Legends peak yesterday was 300,658 and PUBG had 405,236.
Steam numbers are the only ones we have and so these are all we can accurately judge… but even if there are twice as many Xbox players (not likely that high) then the numbers are still super low.
I’m writing this to shine light on the issue, and hopefully send an alarm signal to 343 that the game is literally in it’s death throws on Steam.
343 Please do something NOW… not in 2 - 6 months. Give this game some sort of boost before it completely dies off!!! Drop a couple maps or game modes or both… like ASAP.
I want this game to survive, but at this point it’s seeming like a pipe dream unless 343 actually makes a move!!!
Well i mean its understanable to ban people for saying things like “there was deliberate sabotage.” But i dont think anyone is getting banned for badmouthing 343.
I made a post the other day with a title that said “343, your challenges are bad” and went on to subsequently share how i felt they are paying little to no attention to what theyre doing. Still here.
I think their objective is to remove harmful misinformation, based on nothing more than mere rumors and speculation. They arent trying to “hide the truth.” This is a video game corporation, not the CIA.
I think it’s too late for this game. Sure the hardcore fan base will stick around for a while, but ultimately I think the game is dead unless 343 starts treating this game like a new, modern, live service game, and not like a standard Halo release that they are releasing piece meal.
A standard Halo release would have been great too, but the fact that they are still trying to fit a square into a circle is where they went wrong.
When Microsoft created 343, I think they left anyone with any real leadership skills back at Bungie. Turns out that skill set is important when creating a studio to continue on one of the biggest franchises in gaming.
If this were a beta, sure that would be ok. But I had a handful of friends that came to play this game on release. Only 1 of them still plays it with me… all of the others joke us for doing so.

I am also the last of my group of friends of about ten people to continue playing this game. Whether on Steam or XBox.
This is the first time that players leave so quickly. It’s very sad.
343 basically lied about the game, calling it a Live service, but nothing comes out, other then armor for your character and stupid challenges that no one cares about.
More game modes will only split the population even more!
Halo has never been about outfits or challenges, it was always red vs blue back in the days in team slayer.
Big team was never Halos strong side, now they dont even have a ranked team slayer mode, the most basic thing in Halo multiplayer.
This game has nothing to offer that other multiplayer games dont have, it doesnt feel like Halo anymore to be honest.
If they removed the medals its just a bad COD game.
If everyone that spoke critically was banned then there would only be like 3 people on this forum.
When you break forum rules you get moderated. Simple as that. The mods aren’t perfect and I don’t agree with every moderation I see (and one or two issues seem to be over policed), but there isn’t some conspiracy going on here to silence criticism. There are even examples of 343 criticisms from the mods themselves.
No ones pretending because all you have to do is scroll down the forums for literally 10 seconds and see more than a handful of posts that are expressly geared towards criticizing 343.
I read your “discussions.” Maybe it was a little overboard to be getting banned from the forums, but that also doesnt mean you did “nothing besides point out 343’s incompetence.”
You were actively calling for community support to remove the licensing rights of Halo from 343. And then someone told you that posts like were not conducive to good discussion (because they arent), and you proceeded to repeatedly call them a troll thereafter.
Youre not innocent, and youre not giving the community anything meaniful with your “calls to action.” The effects of 343’s inability to pump life into this game can be felt by the lackluster amount of players that are barely hanging on to their brand new game.
I would be shocked if there was only twice the xbox players to steam players. Regardless, like you say we have nothing else to go from and it is clear that things aren’t as good as 343 would have us believe.
