i dont know why but i would like the idea, maybe in the menu or something i like the new sounds and all but i think it would be epic to have the ability to change from old to new that way you can play ce as it was exactly (or at least mostly) how it was in 2001 with the old soundtrack and weapon sounds with your buddies and then switch to new mode and go around exploring the new yet familiar game with cool new sounds and graphics
any one think they’ll make a legendary edition for cea
As the Doctor said. It’s already 2 graphical engines running at once with an “updated” soundtrack. Rather than run 4 “engines” at once, they chose to give us the retro-look only.
It’s not that they can’t do it. It’s that they can’t get EVERYTHING to transition instantly and smoothly like the graphics do. It’s that it can’t be done as envisioned that it’s not being included.
They could if space on the disc allowed for it. CE may only be around 3.6 GB or so in size, the updated graphic resources will take up a lot more disc space. Not sure if it will be huge, but it will be more. And then the sound is updated, so the sound is “larger” too.
Now with musical data compression just absolutely eclipsing 10 year old tech… I’m not sure how much size the newer, more layered and larger sounds will take up.
I really don’t think so. In the end, CEA is a build up to 4. The sound and score additions/changes are foreshadowing Halo4’s evolution. Regardless of what we see, they want us to hear what’s coming.
But, I’m game for the old-school sound to be there. Steve Vai, awesome dude, just doesn’t play the guitar as grungy as the original CE did. There was something about the backyard sound over the Dream Theatre sound that I love so much more.
