In 2012 the population of halo 4 dropped dramatically after black ops 2 came out and never really recovered after it. Whether it had been for the features that alienated players or short attention span, even though there were still a fair amount of players, it was kinda sad to see Halo 4 decrease that soon and early in it’s lifestyle. As by coincidence that Treyarch is making this year’s CoD and another Halo is coming out, what do you guys think? Will we see another dip come November or will people continue to play it post launch?
For me I believe that there will be a dip no doubt, but with all the promises, free DLC, and extensive amount of new players introduced to the series via MCC, it will have way more than Halo 4 ever did. Hopefully it goes that way but only time will tell.
Most likely its done it before and will again, if some players feel like they played out the game then they usually switch.

yes but hopefully the dip isn’t too huge like it was with halo 4

I believe that the dip was part blops part because it changed the halo formula in a big way. So far as saying that it felt like COD to some. I believe that it was time to evolve into the next generation of Halo, but i guess the sudden change alienated a lot of us
I won’t be purchasing BOPS 3
I won’t be getting blops 3 either f*** CoD. Halo 5 has a lot to offer the classic halo fans. Also now that 343i has the Halo Championship series you will be seeing halo played a lot on e-sports networks. I think Esports is how Halo will keep its population up.
It always happens, even Halo 3 suffered a population drop after Modern Warfare arrived.
Playing the BO3 beta was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

I played it for an hour and got bored of it

I played it thinking “hell the beta is free why not try it.”. Come to find out, it’s the same damn game I’ve been playing for 10 years. Played for about 2 hours, then never went back. Game was so stale.
If 343 can strategically release btb and possibly one of the free map packs around the bo3 release date, then it could help keep the population up.
There will always be that segment of players that is fickle and just jumps to whatever the hottest new game is.
Why don’t we just wait and see?

Personally, I’ve never liked a recent CoD game up until BO3. I still will stick with Halo 5 until Halo 6, though.
IDK why it wouldn’t.
Probably will dip for B3. But then again even if it didn’t, both games would dip once Fallout 4 releases. I don’t see Battlefront hurting us too much. But I think the real test would be how numbers look post holiday season, after the big wave of people buying all the new games and bundles, and after all those big games have already been released long enough for buyers to have a good idea about what games they do or don’t want.
When you have a chain of big games releasing like we do this fall, regardless of the order of release most of these games we see some dip I’m sure. Which btw RIP Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Xmas noobs!
It probably will, at least a little bit, which I wouldn’t mind. Why? Because anyone who willingly picks Call of Duty: Destiny’s Titanfall over Halo is not someone I would like to even share a lobby with.
If I had to say, I doubt it will dip. Halo and cod fanbases are pretty seperate, and as for the Halo 4 case, I feel mainly because it wasn’t really hyped or looked as good as Hao 5 is looking.
Of course it will. A percentage of the gaming population does little actual research on the games they are buying, and instead just gravitates towards whatever is newest and/or thrown in front on them by advertising.
They play a game for a month, buy the next game, rinse and repeat.
The gaming industry LOVES them for this as well.
Why play one game for a year when you can play 12 games during the same time period?
