Will Halo 5's graphics be as good as CGI?

It won’t be CGI, but it will be -Yoink!- pretty. I think Halo 6 will be the one close to CGI, and after that I doubt we’ll see any massive leaps in the graphics department (how far can you go, really- soon enough games will reach a point where they look real and devs will focus on gameplay and map design).

Only a fool would even propose the idea of cgi quality graphics in a console that cost less than 400$ to make. LOL!

I speak the truth that we won’t see cgi quality graphics until two more console generations later. It will take PCs at least another 10 years to reach halo wars cutscenes ingame graphics. And by then at any rate the cgi will have further improved.

Remember this: it takes hours or days to render one frame on a cgi cutscene using high end processors. Chips that alone cost in the range of 1000$ seperately. Then if the cgi is probably 24-30 frames per second you can imagine how long it takes to finish one cutscene. Again I expect two gens at least from now and we probably won’t see anything like that during gameplay but maybe in engine cutscenes.

Meaner :frowning:

Halo 5 will look amazing. Most likely as good as the cutscenes and CGI. FANTASTIC

Halo 5 will look great, I mean heck Halo 4 looks amazing for a Halo game, so I doubt that they could screw it.

But “CGI Graphics” No. As it is stated before X1 nor current PC’s are capable of doing that.

Hope so man. I personally think if the in-engine cut scenes are just as good as the CGI from previous Halos, that would be ideal.

My question is, how was this thread made in 2013?

CGI will always be better than the current game graphics. Why? Because the game graphics have to be rendered in real time while CGI they can let render for hours and weeks.

Now, the diference starts to be less noticeable to the human eye, but they can always push the lighting, shadows, and other effects harder with CGI because they don’t have to worry about frame rate hit.

It might be as good as the halo 4 e3 2011 CGI.
