Will Halo 5 have a Halo 2 styled campaign?

Halo 5: Guardians looks like (by the E3 2014 trailer) that there will be two main characters:
-Master Chief
-Spartan Locke

In Halo 2, There were two main characters will two different storylines.
-Master Chief
-Arbiter

Will Master Chief follow his own path to help bring Cortana back and Spartan Locke try to find Chief with the help of the Arbiter?

My theory:
Master Chief leaves the UNSC to find Cortana through a Forerunner A.I. named Medicant Bias. (Fought with the Flood during the Flood-Forerunner war 150,000 years ago, captured by Forerunners and stored under the sand on the Ark). (Hence Halo 5 teaser trailer). And will help bring her back but release the Flood he loved in the process. Spartan Locke is under the command of ONI and is tasked to find the Chief with the Arbiter to fight the main antagonist in Halo 5. Maybe the “Guardians”? Maybe that main antagonist(s) will be Halsey and Jul’ Mdama. And then they will converge like they did in Halo 2/3.

This is my theory, but share yours in the comments.

I hope not.

I am too invested in the chief to play as Marlowe

Most likely. When you look at the promo art and with the way the Halo MCC trailer was. I assume we’ll be playing 2 sides of the story. I just hope they do it right

Hopefully, I really enjoyed playing as the Arbiter and seeing what is happening on the other side of the war.

I’d say yes, they’re spending a ton of time building up Locke by the looks of it, and they sure aren’t dumping chief any time soon. They’re probably trying to avoid the surprise that Arbiter was in h2 after being told all about earth invasions.

I think him talking to the arbiter is also symbolic of this.

I really hope we get another split campaign! Didnt really like it in H2, but looking back I really appreciate the backstory and different perspective.

Just as long as the chief is definitely the focal point

That was one of my main gripes about 2’s campaign. I thought the arbiter had a great campaign, but once chief leaves earth his campaign sort of petered out in anything interesting. Arbiter got all the plot twists.

Hopefully: yes.

H2 has the best campaign story due to that split campaign set up.
I really want that depth back into Halo.

Although I can already hear the screams of rage from those who only want to play as Chief.

I disagree, Halo 2 had the least entertaining story for me - it was the only one which I actually stopped playing at one point. Conversely it was perhaps the most interesting…but the split in game-play wasn’t handled the best it could have been imo.

In this case i’m not sure, it might be nice to see MC do some crazy -Yoink- from some one else’s perspective haha.

I would love this. Why have one story when you can have 2? Or more! I made a thread that covers this topic before E3
