Halo 4 did have a halo ring and when i saw it for the first time in the campaign I though -Yoink- yes this just got even more awesome i can’t wait to land on it, and I was disappointed when We didn’t get to.
I loved the Halo 4 campaign don’t get me wrong, but I really hope Halo 5 has something to do with a Halo ring.
Maybe the Elite civil war might result in the storm faction getting one? or the brutes ?
I don’t know but I just really want a Halo ring in it.

Not really, I doubt the Didactic would approve of his followers using them.
Maybe use a decommissioned Halo (remember the UNSC is trying to find and decommission them all) as a simple set piece. All that land area is still valuable even if it isn’t actively weaponized.
I figure they will try to avoid “Halo as a galactic threat” plots just to avoid becoming routine, unless they have it as a relatively short subplot in the first half of a game in order to progress a broader plot.
Yeah that is a good point.
But Halsey is against the UNSC now and gaining control of a ring (without actually wanting ti fire it) is a pretty big asset and threat and that could be used against the UNSC.

Having the Halo ring as a sub-plot as part of the campaign would be epic.
It should only go there if the story warrants it. The fact that it’s called Halo doesn’t restrict every single one of the games to include a Halo and it would be perfectly fine if Halo 5 has no Halos at all (not even a cameo, like 4). That said, it would definitely be fun to be on a Halo again and see the skybox stretching up around us. As long as the story is good and the Halo isn’t shoehorned in for the sake of it (a bit like Halo 4, I’m afraid) I would love to set foot on a Halo in Halo 5.
Did the Halo cameo really detract from the plot? I mean, the composer had to be somewhere, and the research station scenario seemed both more plausible and more interesting than if they had done some generic dark side of the moon thing.
But yeah, I don’t want them to feel like they have to have a cartographer/library/index/control room cycle every game or anything.
But by the looks of it, Halo 5 will focus on Installation 00. Save the ring coated in fog and riddled with Proto-Graveminds and biomass for Halo 6, that would be a perfect time to reintroduce the Flood and end with a cliffhanger.

I hope so! Being on the ring is a staple of the campaign. I loved the H4 campaign, but it didn’t look/feel right. It was dark, which was a nice change, but there’s nothing better than the beautiful, bright environments on the ring.
As much as I’d love to,somehow I highly doubt it, since the covenant and the UNSC have a truce, and the galaxy is aware of the threat the Halo’s really are. We haven’t fought on a Halo ring since 2007, and were likely going to be on installation 00 for most of the game (speculation), I guess the best we can get is at least a Halo ring like in Halo 4, but just not fighting on it.

Which is prefect for a mid/end game change in the didacts views on humanity, he can see how in the forerunners absence the humans stopped the flood twice and how the covenant is a bunch of crazy idiots.
