To be fair they aren’t pay 2 win as you get free ones every day for login AND you can unlock more with in-game points. It’s more pay for advantage than pay 2 win. Also nobody plays Warzone anymore outside of Firefight, so this isn’t really a problem anymore.
I mean 343 could always just make every weapon and vehicle a permanent unlock instead of 1-time use, maybe add a new challenge catalogue specifically for req weapons and vehicles where you have to complete different challenges to unlock them.
All in all I’d rather a full standalone steam port of H5 and see what modders could do for the game instead of it coming to MCC.
Personally (and i might have said it on this thread so my b for repeating myself), MCC was made to port all non Xbox One halo games to Xbox One. it would be redundant to bring 5 into the mix, as well as bloating the game way too much (even though you can install each separately, it would still bloat it.) you also have to add in H5’s game modes within the playlist creator and match making. this might also be a sore statement as well, but 5’s gameplay diverts way too far from the other games, so imagine you have slayer, forgot to uncheck 5, and you play a few games in 3 then 4 then reach, then 1 game in halo 5. I feel that would be rather jarring for players. (again, my opinion). it would be much much more efficient for them to revamp 5 like they did with MCC. heck i think in settings or extra content, they have a button that takes you to 5. so “technically” the game is in MCC, as well as infinite lol jk — Edit: you also have to remember that MCC is on PC as well, in turn they would need to work on a stable PC port. + regarding the button that goes to 5, they could do what Minecraft did with their Xbox One edition owners and give out 5 as a free download. game’s essentially dead so i doubt it would be a huge money lost
Agreed, tho daily logins don’t give a lot out, and you only get free ones after your first win of the day. However if you do manage to unlock all cosmetics, weapons, and vehicles within the RNG pool, silver and gold packs give you 60% of your points back. essentially making gold packs worth 4k points and silvers 2k
I have a few ideas on fixing this, 1 fix that would add to what you have is for this would have a separate unlock system. You earn the normal versions of power weapons and Vehicles (calling them PWVs for short so i don’t write that over and over lol) through leveling normally, and for higher rarities you would do challenges (tho what kind? idk). once you unlock them, depending on the rarity, you only have a select amount of them to drop (ex, you can only use 2 legendaries, and 1 mythic per game). Note this still uses the req level system obviously. I have to find the post i made that has the cliffnote version of all the fixes I have and paste it here (in fact i think i made the post lol)

Paying for an advantage is pay-2-win. And the free loot boxes only ever give you low-level REQs. The pay-2-win aspect is part of the reason nobody plays Warzone anymore.
I mean 343 could always just make every weapon and vehicle a permanent unlock instead of 1-time use, maybe add a new challenge catalogue specifically for req weapons and vehicles where you have to complete different challenges to unlock them.
Then everyone would just spam the highest-level REQs without consequence game after game. Why bother with Scorpions, Wraiths, and Mantises when you can just call in one Phaeton Helios after another upon reaching max REQ level? Warzone was built from the ground up to sustain the RNG loot box system, it can’t exist without it.
would this idea i had on the other post work to fix this? - “take out card system and have it to where you can only use power weapons or vehicles of a specific rarity a # of times per game (30 commons, 20 uncommons, 10-15 rares, 5 ultra-rares, 1-2 legendaries, 1 mythic).”
it would give a reason for the rarities, challenges to unlock the stronger versions would be rewarding. and if you want to go further to balance this, put a limit on how many of each item you can spawn in (example you can only spawn 2 - 3 SAW, and/or put a cooldown timer per item) that way spamming would not happen as much.
I will agree, WZ was designed soly for Req Packs. in turn for fixes they should be work around on this. like if we want them to take out them entirely, the progression system should mirror the change.
Wrong, the free packs actually can give you good gear, I’ve gotten oni scorpions, prophets banes, gavels, even spnkr primes from daily logins, even if I didn’t have them unlocked.
I never said get rid of the in-game req level up system, such as requiring higher req levels to call in better gear, I just suggested a workaround for removing the microtransaction aspect, although reading your comments it seems like you can’t be happy no matter what, not that I’m advocating for H5 in MCC, I’m not, if H5 comes to PC it needs to be a standalone Steam Port.
while at college away from my xbox, i use to open daily packs and sell the cards in order to continue grinding out cosmetics + certifications. took me about a year to finish about 40 ish %? and i was doing all silvers and then all golds. the majority of items i got were uncommon and rares. i could probably pick out about 2 weeks worth of dailies that gave me decent items, even after unlocking everything in the req packs. WZ daily wins however gave better rewards, from what I remember 2 yrs ago when i played H5, yet I still stand that they arent very reliable to work around getting good items.
still vote on a limited amount per rarity and item + cooldown. and unlocking higher tier items requires challenge packs. (note this adds onto the req system in warzone games)
same. was one of the more fun modes from 5. i remember once just popping off with the Ultra Rare grav ham defending a garage from i have to say 5 or more players all on my own. felt god like lol
No because of file size, halo 5 as it is now is almost the size of mcc a little over a hundred gigs, the best decision is they re-release it with updated graphics and additional content. honestly i still hope they release it on pc and update it for X|S, if they could do it with halo 1 and 2 i dont see why not for 5.
I just don’t see how they would incorporate all of Halo 5’s unique mechanics like req packs and Warzone. I mean I guess they could take those out but that would mean you would really only have the campaign and Multiplayer. Then also you would have to make another way to unlock Halo 5’s armors which would most likely be stuffed into a battle pass. And then lastly forge. You would have to do change it a lot and take out the prefab mechanic most likely.
There is just way too many variables and also you have to think of how it would make the game run. Honestly adding Halo 5 would be a terrible decision.
That wasn’t really my point. I was discussing how dailies didn’t give out good gear. cause if it did, i would have got higher tier items, and there for more req points when I sold them.
furthermore to add on to this statement. its not an issue for me now, ofc. but tell me, how many people do you feel would either grind almost 3.27 MILLION req points (if you bought bronze, then silver, then gold), with a usual rate of (from my memory) 4-6 ish k per Mythic Firefight game (15 to 20 minutes, or around 10 if you run a squad) or dump a max of almost $845 (i know its an extreme to think someone would spend that much money, its why I said a max of). and that’s mythic firefight, which gives more than normal firefight (and ofc they kicked out legendary firefight on the last update lol)
Dude I have 4 or 5 alt profiles specially designed for casually ranking up Halo 5 to unlock everything, I’ve done the entire grind about 4 or 5 times and I can tell you, Dailies DO give you good stuff a majority of the time, sure maybe mythics are hard to get, but I’ve got so many answers from daily packs you might as well call me Al Capone (Referencing that the Saw/Answer is in fact a type of Tommy Gun).
I’d also like to point out that I started every grind with unlocking gold packs first and got the majority of my gear from that, the only money I spent was on the voices of war pack, I most used normal WZFF to get points and no I didn’t use too many boosts.
I’d typically sell my boosts cause I got more points from selling them than using them.
ok? in that case what are their names? cause I sometimes like to check out peeps stats and see how trash i am lol + pasting your name into the service record search leads to no records (tho i bet its just waypoint being waypoint lol)
rattle em bois lol
so you sift through an unlocking pool that consists of uncommons to legendaries?
look tbh i really don’t care about how much dailies give gear wise nor how long of a grind is nor how many times you grinded 5. we might as well go make a separate post and argue there cause this post as well as the other post we’re arguing keeps detouring off topic.
