In the campaign, Master Chief promises Cortana that he will bring her back to Halsey so she will fix her. Cortana replies saying don’t make a girl a promise you can’t keep. Master Chief always keeps his promise so i think that Cortana is definitely coming back in Halo 5. Also, I don’t think that the Didact would be killed off so easily, so he might make a return as well. I remember 343 industries said that Halo 4 will have a cliffhanger, but i don’t seem to see what unanswered questions there still are. Could you maybe name some?
My unanswered question is if we fought the Ur-Didact or Bornstellar Didact.
you must not post spoilers in the topic, little one
More than likely yes.

The didact speaks after the credits so I’m sure he’ll be back in Halo 5.
I think Cortana will probably be back as I think 343 will use the whole multiple personalities aspect as an excuse for her to return but either way you should change the title of this topic so it doesn’t include spoilers. (and put a SPOILERS tag)
I honestly hope they do, Coming in as the new studio and killing of one of the main characters would be bad.
Sweet spoiler you -Yoinking!- jabroni.
Remember about the technology that turns AI into living creatures…
Cortana…
AI…
WrappedInBlack has the right idea.
The Composer was used to digitize humans, but it was also said to be able to create life from the digital world, but all of the experiments went wrong. One of my theories about Halo 5/6 is that the the Composer will bring Cortana back to life, and possibly in human form.
People don’t seem to get this, but the Didact’s speech at the end of the game was his speach when the flood had nearly won, the humans had been reduced to the stone age, and he was about to be imprisoned those tens of thousands of years ago.
The Didact will return. He is the face of the new enemy of Halo 4 through 6, the Prometheans. He will return digitally from falling into the Composer, if he comes back, that means Cortana will also be back (via Composer as well). And if Cortana comes back, it will be her original self with memory in-tact (may be some amnesia or rebuilding but in the end it will be her, maybe a little rampancy thrown in).
I HIGHLY doubt that we have seen the last of our loved Cortana. Kiki Wolfkill said the new trilogy is about discovering the Human side of John, which would be severely lacking without diving into the more-than-friendship relationship that he had with Cortana. Heck, it might even grow into a love story by the end of Halo 6.
I personally think she’ll be back. Same goes for the Didact, and I hope so for both. Cortana was always an awesome character and I thought the Didact had a really good voice actor, so I’d hate to see that be wasted on just the one game.
hope not
Spolier* Change Title.
Answer: Yes, immortal.

If 343i does nothing with the Precursors the Forerunner Saga has been hyping up for two books now, I’m going to be pissed. Besides, the Didact was a terrible villain.
Not gonna lie. I cried a bit when they supposedly killed off Cortana at the end of Halo 4. Hopefully she comes back somehow.
Lol nobody will care what happens to Cortana if the multiplayer is the same as Halo 4.
> If 343i does nothing with the Precursors the Forerunner Saga has been hyping up for two books now, I’m going to be pissed. Besides, the Didact was a terrible villain.
Sure, but they didn’t design the entirely new enemy archetype for one game. The Precursors are a lot more abstract, and everything they had was destroyed with the activation of the rings since they were neural based. Also, they brought the flood in and said they were synonymous (open to interpretation). They may introduce the Precursors more, but I don’t think they will be an antagonist for any of the games.
Yeah the Didact wasn’t a great enemy, but I think it was because of the lack of interaction between him and M.C. The only time you fight him was a quick time event for a grenade lol. Hopefully there will be more battles with him in the future.
Not that anyone cares, but if Cortana doesn’t have a role in the story beyond this game, then I won’t be playing the next.
If 343i ended it here I would have been fine with that, but we all know that we’re in for two more games… then possibly another trilogy after that. Depends on how much Microsoft wants to milk the cash cow.
I’ve got this feeling that it’s going to be one of two possible storylines.

You need to retrieve all the rampant Cortana fragments and re-integrate them.
-
Not one but several Cortanas with be in Halo 5 and you will have to defeat the insane ones and rescue the others…
I’m sure that Cortana is alive in some aspect down on Requiem. She says that “Most of me is down there and I only left enough back to rescue you” or something similar.
I for one care.LOL, in the sense that I feel the exact same way as you. I love that little blue A.I. she just adds so much to the game. I really enjoyed having her with the Chief for the whole game, until IT happened of course. You make a good point too when you said if they were to end it here that would be acceptable, but since there is no doubt more on the way it wouldn’t be the same so I wouldn’t buy it. Here’s hoping she’ll be back.
