Will Halo 5 be on Xbox 360?

I keep on hearing all this talk about Halo 5 coming out on December 12, 2014. The question is: is it gonna come out with an Xbox 360 version? If not, I think it should because when the Xbox 360 came out, they still had duplicate versions of the new games for the Xbox for about a year.

Thank you for your time.

We have no confirmation that the Halo game releasing this year is indeed Halo 5. Many people, including myself, believe that it is Halo 2 Anniversary in 2014 and Halo 5 in 2015, for many reason.

Nevertheless, the codename for the game coming this year is “Halo Xbox One”. No matter what it is, you can be sure that it is going to be released solely on Xbox One, and not on Xbox 360. Having a 360 version would severely hold back the game in many many ways, and would not be worthwhile at all.

I doubt it. The next Halo game will probably be exclusive to the Xbox One. I think Microsoft want’s people to by an Xbox One, not a 360.

I really hope not, that would only hurt the game.

Wait a second, where did you get December 12 from? I’ve never heard that one before.

Microsoft has stated many times that “your Halo journey will begin on Xbox One in 2014.” The statement doesn’t specifically exclude the Xbox 360, but if it was going to be available on both, they wouldn’t have named Xbox One specifically.

Whether “Halo Xbox One” is Halo 2 Anniversary (pls) or Halo 5 (no), I’m almost certain that it will be limited to Xbox One. It’s in the name, after all! :stuck_out_tongue:

A PC version released later on would sure be nice, though.

December seems like a weird time for a game release, especially a Halo game. And I feel the next big Halo entry would be exclusive to the Xbox One, for one to be a console seller, and two to show off the abilities of the new console. To have it also be for the 360 would just hinder sales of the Xbox One console and restrict development of the new game.

Dec 12th is a place holder some sites use for games that don’t have dates yet, kind of like game stop uses 12/31.

As to the next Halo of any type being on the 360, probably not. It would hurt the sales of the Xbox One game and that is MS’s new system and that’s the last thing that would want to do. Other games might make it to both systems as MS said they would support the 360 for a few more years but the main games in the Xbox portfolio will just be on the newest system.

Halo 5 won’t come out this year and it won’t be on the 360 and if Halo 2 anniversary is real that won’t be on the 360 either.

Maybe in a far future, maybe when Halo 6 is about to be realeased.

What.

Maybe Halo 2A but not Halo 5.

Was halo 3 on the original Xbox?

I’ve got a better chance of being the next USA president than Halo Xbox One releasing on the X360.

Weather its Halo 5, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo Wars 2 or Halo ODST 2, it will be exclusive on Xbox one.

The Xbox 360 will be dead by the time Halo 6 is released.

I highly doubt Halo 5 would release on 360 no matter when it releases. At most the 360 might get H2A if it exists.

A remake is not going to push the boundaries of what a new console can do and remakes are not not systems sellers either.

A sensible company would probably release a Halo 2 remake on both old and new consoles given the much larger install base of the 360.

However this is MS we are talking about, a company that already tried holding Halo 2 PC hostage to one of their terrible OS’s. They even tried to do it again with Spartan Assault and Windows 8 but at least they realized the futility of it in a short amount of time.

My (small) hope that we will get a Halo 2 Anniversary this year and see it release on 360 as well is pretty much the only thing tethering me to the franchise. I love Halo 2 but I won’t be buying a $400-$500 console to play a remake, especially when the future on the franchise is so suspect.

The 360 could barely handle Halo 4. The Xbox One has more than 8X the RAM of the 360, I want to see what that thing can do, and to be honest, I’m withholding all judgement on the new console until I can play a Halo game on it.
For instance, is the Xbox One controller better than the 360’s? I won’t know until I put it through a Legendary campaign run, etc.

I want the game to push boundaries, not be limited by outdated ones.

I bet they’re going to do the same thing they did with S.A and bring it out on Xbox one and then months later bring it on 360, so that all the idiots will buy xbox one and then won’t realize before it’s too late that it’s coming on 360 as well.
