I am sure a lot of you would agree Bungies Destiny looks awesome, however it is online only even for “single player”
please 343i make Halo 5 offline friendly for offline players and so we can play Halo 5 once the Xbox One servers have closed down in 10 or so years as well. I understand Xbox Lives Cloud processing will be a great help for online multiplayer however please don’t make the offline game and campaign reliant on this
I so very badly wanted to play Spartan ops in an offline system link setup but sadly it was locked to online play.
Please make everything in Halo 5 offline friendly, better yet add bots for custom offline matches would be amazing.
I doubt that would happen but I may be wrong. Microsoft probably won’t do anything that would give them bad press and they’ve already received bad feedback about the policy to have the Xbox one shut off after an hour of not being connected to the internet and thus have changed it.
however destiny is an independent company. Implementing split screen on the Xbox one shouldn’t be hard at all and they’d be making a mistake if they went online only.
and as for bots, I greatly enjoy having bots in 007: nightfire and I think it would be a great addition to split screen multiplayer for halo.
Well, I’d be very surprised if playing the campaign, custom games, or any other mode that requires a single console would force you to be online.
Of course, Spartan Ops, which can be played solo, needs to be played online… So who knows? But I’m willing to bet that 343i has learned their lesson regarding this mistake, and will not do the same again in the future.
This. I like this because it seem lots of games are just for online now. Which takes away from made Xbox awesome in the first place. Remember system links parties? Good gaming days. Now games like Titan fall are taking over, which although it is a great game is lacks that fun factor of offline/ system link gaming that I can do when I go visit my family and friends for family game night. Which consist of mainly my family linking dry stems together and playing usually Halo 3 and what a blast it is.
Another subject is why aren’t gaming companies making split screens anymore. It’s more fun to play with a friend without being on Xbox live
I think all of Halo 5’s game modes should be accessible offline – including the likes of campaign, Custom Games, Forge, Theater, Spartan Ops and even Firefight if that returns. All of these modes could easily be made available to offline gamers that might want to play single player, split-screen or system link.
Not making Spartan Ops available for offline play, in spite of the fact that you can play single player on Xbox Live, was a big mistake for 343i.
and as for bots, I greatly enjoy having bots in 007: nightfire and I think it would be a great addition to split screen multiplayer for halo.
Yes yes yes, nightfire was awesome and i still play it regularly, also love timesplitters for the same reason.
Bots would really really bring the Halo Multiplayer to life for both offline and online gamers.
You could do clan training for hardcore online gamers, players vs bots.
and it would be great for offline gamers to just be able to enjoy all the maps to their fullest, being able to play these big maps designed for 16 players with just say you and a buddy going split screen would be amazing.
if halo had offline bots i would go out right then and there and buy a second xbox one just for system link play
To be truthfully honest! I think campaign will be offline friendly and firefight (if they include it). But as far as multiplayer goes…I’m gonna have to say no. My reason is I believe that it’s going to run heavily I MEAN HEAVILY off the cloud. Therefore, online would be needed. I hope they cater to their online community even as myself know a few people who play offline only.
I don’t exactly have a great understanding of how all this works but why would it be so difficult to implement offline play even if they use the cloud. Doesn’t the Xbox one have a hard drive I could save the information too?
I definitely agree to them needing to cater to the online community but not everybody has great internet and if for whatever reason mine isn’t working and I just wanna play some campaign I dont understand why this wouldn’t be feasible.
10 years is a long time and by then a better halo would’ve probably been released. Also they probably would make it offline as well since every other halo has so why would halo 5 be different
I really hope they make the campaign able to be played offline. Because every now and then, when my internet stuffs up, it’s good to know I can still have my halo cravings satisfied.
of course 10 years from now Halo 6 and most likely others would have been released.
But if its online only and the servers go down, you can never play it again, i still play my Sega and nes games and they are going on 25+ years old now.
