Will Halo 5 be a play anywhere title?

Has there been any word if Halo 5 will become a play anywhere title like Halo Wars 2?

That depends entirely on when Halo 5 is announced for PC, in whatever manner. I would probably imagine not, as MCC itself is not. Infinite would probably be, but Halo 5 would need a decent update code-wise to bring that into play.

It just seems like if it’s been 5 years they shouldn’t add it

They shouldn’t add Play Anywhere? Like I said, I kind of agree. Cross-play would be good if 5 arrived on PC, but I think focusing Play Anywhere on new titles is a better option.

Why are multiple people saying H5 isn’t on PC? There’s no matchmaking, but there’s been a free H5 Forge install available on PC for years. There was a small community for a long time that used it to run custom games on PC.

Because H5: Forge is not the full game that is available on Xbox. Campaign and MP are the two biggest components of any Halo game with Forge being a close third.

Yea I know. The main reason I read people giving for why it wouldn’t go play anywhere is the difficulty of changing the code so it will run on PC.

But it already runs on PC, so that takes down a huge chunk of the dev complexity if the backend infrastructure is already mostly in place.
