John is a Spartan II, while the multiplayer Spartans are Spartan IVs. This is obviously not new, groundbreaking information, but will it feel slightly different to play as the Chief than a new breed of Spartan?
I also thought about this before. I’m assuming there will be a few minor differences, but nothing major.

That’s what I’m hoping for, even just a slight difference.
Sure the differences would be minor.
Good question though.

No, I highly doubt there will be any differences at all.
Well, augmentations of spartan IVs are almost equal to that of spartan IIs(only slightly weaker, but with a much higher success rate). On top of this, they have Much better equipment available to them than the S2’s(much better mjolnir armor, with the new ability to incorporate tactical packages and support upgrades on the field, along with the revived armor ability enhancements only previously tested by a team of spartan III’s)
Of course, they have much less physical training, and substantially less mental training than the spartan IIs/III’s, so their overall effectiveness may not be any better. I’d say that spartan IV’s are about equal, or even better than most spartan II’s(chief is an exception with his infinite pool of luck). They just aren’t as battle-hardened as their predecessors.
However for the sake of gameplay, they will most likely feel the exact same. It’s just easier for them to be made the exact same in both campaign and multiplayer.
cheif is obviously taller lol jk we all know that, but cheif prob is faster, can withstand fall damage like always, and he prob has a bit stronger of melee
I sure hope there is a noticeable if somewhat small difference, after all different characters/training/breed of soldiers will behave and act differently. Chief should be somewhat stronger, faster, better then the MP characters imo ^^
Maybe.

I agree.
You mean, like… the character’s move speed, jump height, shield strength, health strength, ect.? Those qualities? I figured not, but I s’pose it wouldn’t be hard for that to be arranged, either.
They’re a new breed of Spartan, but they’re also trainees. What they have over Chief in technology and youth they lack in experience and Chief’s better nature. Comes out even, I warrant.
Edit: His HUD might be different. I guess that’s something that we could check right now. Is his HUD different?
I hope the few differences are very distinct. If we can hear foot steps, chiefs should be louder, he should sound like hes packing more metal, his melees should be stronger and sound more devastating, he should even feel bulkier just playing as him, the arms and legs for example can be bulkier. When playing Halo3 if you look at your legs they are bigger than the SIII’s legs are in Halo Reach, and I’m pretty sure SIV’s legs are even smaller in the gameplays we’ve seen.
