They might. It’s not impossible to have backwards compatibility on next gen consoles. The ps4 is doing it.
… I don’t think you know how backwards compatibility works. PS4 doesn’t have native backwards compatibility.
Why? Halo 5 is coming out within a year of release. People who want to play Halo 4 will still be able to play it on their 360.
You just answered your own question in the OP. You know that the console isn’t backwards compatible and I doubt Microsoft will add in extra software/hardware for one game.
If it is that would be great to get an Xbox One early. Halo is all I play on my Xbox 360. I like the clean one console look in my living room.
If it’s not I’ll just have the Xbox 360 until H5 or Destiny is released. A possible bonus of this is letting the Xbox One work out all the bugs, maybe have a price drop and / or a new version of the console. A year is a long time these days (:

If hundreds of thousands of players were playing, then maybe, but considering how few people are playing it just would not make fiscal sense.
It’s a hardware issue, not a software issue. I think its the Xbox 1’s processor that makes it not possible for the Xbox 360 games to not work.
If they were to do so, it would be alot of work for just 1 game. They would have to re-release the game for Xbox 1, and I doubt they want to spend the resources needed to make that happen with another Halo game going to be out within a year of the new console’s life.
I’d just hang onto the 360. The console isn’t going to be backwards compatible, so I don’t see a reason to trade it in, especially if you want to play Halo 4 or any games you want to play that is for the 360.
