Word on the net says the Xbox One is not backwards compatible, but 343 could still bring Halo 4 to the Xbox One. Microsoft managed to bring Halo 2 to the Xbox 360, and in that case the architecture went from x86 to PowerPC. (Now we are going from PowerPC to x86). When Apple Inc. switched from PowerPC to x86, they released Rosetta, and though the emulation was cumbersome, Rosetta worked. Another option is a straight up port. If games can be released on the Xbox 360 and the PC, then an Xbox 360 to Xbox One port should be equally possible.
Not to diminish the Xbox brand, but Halo is the reason I own an Xbox over anything else.
as of right now, xbox one is not compatible with any previous generation discs.
Before i say anything all of this is specualation and rumors.
Xbox one probably is not backwords compatable. Talked about sacrificing that for better over all performance. Was also talked about a divice that you could plug back into the next xbox essentially being a mini xbox 360 for back compatibility. But if i had to take a guess it’s probably going to go like the PS4 where old games can be bought as digital copy for your xbox one on games on demand.
Just my thoughts.

Can I get a link to that? Because from my current knowledge I have not heard anything about the Xbox One being x86.
Halo 2 Anniversary here we come!
Xbox1 won’t be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games, including Halo 4. They also said that they don’t have plans at the moment to work around it.
