I was looking through the list of threads and didn’t notice any of them talking about if 343 will implement a Saved Films option (for pay or not :30 sec free clips like Forza) or a Quit Ban, which completely ruined Halo Reach’s online numbers.
I was a big fan of Saved Films because I loved the option of making Montage’s of clips in 720p for Youtube. I am also NOT in favor of a quit ban of any sort. Was hoping Saved Films would make a tie-in appearance with Amazon and Quit Ban for Halo 4 NOT exist.
There wasn’t any problem with the quit ban. If your excuse is that you had to go do something, by the time you get back your ban should either be over or only have 1-2 minutes left. If you just get mad and ragequit a lot, then you can wait 10 minutes to play again. It didn’t “ruin Reach’s online numbers” and if you think it did, you are probably bad, and you should feel bad.
The quitting penalties were a useful feature, and should never be removed. Their implementation was greatly appreciated. These rage quitters and aggressive, unhelpful players should feel the sting of something, even if a temp ban.
Would like to talk to zero trolls for this question. Hint^^^^. Or anyone who is open minded thank you.
When you accidentally betray people and got booted that counted against you, which lead to 15 min bans. That=bad.
When you join a BTB game and the matchmaking system was broken giving you all guests, or imbalanced teammates versus your enemies and those guests quit en masse leaving you on a 4 vs 8 game, that leads one to quit. Again, That=bad.
A Temp ban is good in theory but fails to recognize the reality. People will just quit despite a ban. You must realize people could care less about a quit ban and will quit regardless. Battlefield 3 doesn’t have a quit ban and COD doesn’t either. There’s a reason why those games have better matches. People can freely come and go as they please. You can’t stop quitting and implementing a quit ban actually works against people wanting to comeback to a game as it gets older.
Sure it seems to work while a game is fresh and new the first year, after that it becomes very obvious how draconian that addition is. Sorry but you ALL are wrong.

Not agreeing with you =/= Not being open minded.
If you “accidentally” betray people enough to get banned, you need to get better and not kill your team-mates.
That is true, but it happens rare enough so that if you never quit any games other than those, you shouldn’t get banned. Unless you have really bad luck.
Happens more so than you think when you join solo into games.
I appreciate a more sound rebuttle from you but you still don’t get that a quit ban hurts the game more than it helps. Its extremely detrimental of a long period of time for the game as a whole because of its general rule set for the ban.
Now, I’d totally be willing to implement a significantly modified quit ban with features like
FOR A QUIT BAN
quitting while ahead in a game: deserves a mark towards 15 min ban
more than 3 betrayals in a game notifies dead player’s option to boot: a subsequent boot then deserves a mark towards 15 min ban
If a player has a history of betrayals from recently played games the option to boot appears after 2 betrayals in game: a mark towards 15 min ban
Threat of Quit ban notification should only appear once in game and if need be, once in post game lobby of each game there was more than one betrayal.
NOT TOWARDS A QUIT BAN
If a player quits while losing, that player receives a loss in the statistics column. Remaining players on winning team receive the win they wanted. Any players that quit because of first quitting players: No quit ban mark is rendered against any player. (Remaining players on the losing team SHOULD NOT be penalized for earlier quitting players with a quit ban. This is the biggest problem of all with the Quit Ban’s rules. The game is lopsided and the only rational result in favor of anger towards the quitters is to quit themselves).
If a player quits because of any reason, (Ex> Mom calls him to dinner, Girlfriend is at the front door and its date night time, Etc), Quit mark against that player is reset after an hour. There should be no quit ban carried over from day to day like it is in Reach.
The bans towards quitting were needed, I assume you never played Halo 3 because quitting was a huge problem in there. Bungie implimented a 10 minute ban if you quit out of games in ‘succession’. Reach works the same way.
If you are getting banned you are quitting too many games early. I’ve been playing Reach since its midnight launch and Halo 3 since its launch and have not ONCE been banned or penalized from Matchmaking and I quit a few games. Reach were primarily head hunter games because the game mode is just terrible.
If 343 brings over quit bans to Halo 4, I will sincerely not play Halo 4. I quit because of bad teammates and people who don’t have a clue to whats going on and aren’t paying attention. People need to understand that about people who brave matchmaking solo or in a party with less then like 4-5 people. Reach’s quit ban ruined the game because it was flawed like -Yoink-.

Another on the bandwagon.
People like you in matchmaking are the worse letting your teammates pretty much guarantee that they won’t win and provide a short lame game for the other team. I admire the people who stick to it and don’t back down just because their other teammates quit or they happen to be loosing. Hell I’ve seen some people surprise me and I’ve surprised a few people myself before being outnumbered. There were too many people quitting before and there are still people quitting even today in Reach and Halo 3, if they get penalized they deserve it.
Um, I played Halo 3 alright. In fact I played so much that I killed over 345k players. I know what I’m talking about. You might want to take my opinion a little more seriously.
> What really sucked is when my internet would shut off and I would get random ban for quitting to many games when it was my connection.
Exactly my point. Thank you for bringing that up. Those kinds of bans happen. In fact it happened to me the other day when it was Reach’s fault and the game lost connection, a quit ban was then applied. Broken system for sure. Another reason it needs modification.
> Um, I played Halo 3 alright. In fact I played so much that I killed over 100k players. I know what I’m talking about. You might want to take my opinion a little more seriously.
Why should I take your opinion seriously? It’s not like you’ve really raised a valid point without calling other people idiots or trolls.
I’ve also been dropped by DC’s before, it happens but it won’t slap a ban on your face instantly if it does. You have to quit games CONSTANTLY for it to even consider giving you one, or DC a ton. Thats the way it was in 3 and Reach. If you are getting banned for quitting you deserve it, if you are getting DC’d often enough during a game you need to get a new ISP because obviously the current one isn’t holding.
Blame yourself before you starting blaming the game or other people. Since the game can’t tell wether it was an accident or not it goes based on how often it occurs.
