WIll Halo 4 have ranked multiplayer?

When I say ranked, I mean ranked as in halo 2/3 ranked and reach arena, not reach competitive. If there is could we please have a system more akin to halo 2/3’s where we could see our rank changing in real time rather than once a day. This instant satisfaction is something that made the ranked playlists as popular as they were back in halo 2 and 3.

Another thing, please keep the number of playlists to a minimum, there are way too many playlists in reach and it spreads the population very thinly. I say a total of 16: 4 ranked (ffa, doubles, team slayer and mlg), 8 competitive/social and another 4 for action sack/dlc etc.

PS: I notice you have been neglecting Reach a tad, while I do understand it is not your game and you are most likely concentrating your resources on halo 4, I sincerely hope you do not neglect halo 4 post launch.

If 343 doesn’t implement some sort of skill-based ranking system, they shouldn’t bother shipping this game out. They physically would not deserve the profit.

I won’t be buying H4 if it doesnt. I’m much better than the average player (not trying to boast) so in Reach, all my games are with people much worse than myself. It’s very frustrating. The only real competition is in the MLG playlist.

The average Halo player doesn’t care about ranked playlists since either way, they’re likely to be matched up with other average players.

I don’t mind the current system I would just appreciate a more beefed up trueskill system

I just figured it out. Trueskill no trueskill, you “competitive” players are the only ones left, everyone who played that way left, right around midway through halo3s lifespan. You can put a 1-50 in the game but you will only be playing each other (all 500 of you)since youre all so good, us lowly “fun” players simply dont care about it. The times have change and you all stayed the same.

So, i hope you get what you want and enjoy playing each other over and over again.

Then, what they should do, when you see that you have no- one to play with, you find that they lock out players over ts30 from casual playlists.
Since you are trying segregate the rest of us from “your” playlist we should have the same entitlements, not having you in “our” playlists.

Sound good?

I don’t see how you even made a point. People have different skill levels. People need to be matched up with people near their skill level…

No, some people need to play people better than them to learn from mistakes their making in game. I watch films when i get my -Yoink- whipped, to see technique and tactic, from the beasts pov. Putting that to an end leaves us at the same level, if you are never challenged you get stuck in your sigma ranking and then its even harder to get better. I knew you would have something to say about it, like your the champion of the competitive community.

Answer this, why would the devs listen to you? As i said in a previous post, their has never been more than 1000 people on these forums, ever. The record has been 588.

All these suggestions are worthless to them, everything you are saying to them is meaningless. If you had ten thousand people on here at once asking for a ranked playlist i could almost see them bending that way, but you dont, its the same people making the same thread, when they see that the originals have fallen off the front page. Must as well kys now because you are going to be let down launch day.

To your surprise (probably), I agree with you. I have almost no doubt in my mind that these forums are here solely for the reason to give us the mere perception that we have any control in the franchise.

Either way, they’re almost finished developing the title. Why would they even need us?

These forums are here to talk about the games and such. Not try to change them.

Did you happen to see the recent American Dad, steve wants a puppy, stan says no, steve keeps asking for the puppy over and over. Finally stan says, "just because you say it over and over again, doesnt mean its going to happen. Stan then proceeds to say, jane seymour from behind over and over, that what this section has become. Jane seymour from behind, see what i am saying.

Jesus, allah, moses! Enough already! -Yoink-! How about we wait and see if its a failure before asking for something, some of you act like entitled children, whom something is owed to them because of bungies shortcomings.

Your complaint is that you cant get better while playing someone that’s bad? Guess what… WE CAN’T EITHER… THATS THE POINT.

Theres not alot of people on the forum, whats your point. More than 90% of my halo friends (not a single one under level 50 in multiple playlists) quit playing when or a few month after reach came out. Part of this was the immense imbalance, but an equal reason was that there was nothing to strive for. I play “social” all day and i go + 30 every game. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE nothing i like more than killing peole that don’t know which way is up. Just because reach dosn’t hold a large competitive community dosn’t mean that halo 4 isn’t entitled to one. The game was better off that way. You may think were a smaller part of the community, but do you remember how many people played ranked in halo 3? Around 1/3 of the population played ranked at all times. And maybe 1/2 of that 1/3 wont play at all without a ranking system. I’ll give halo 4 a try no matter what. But if i’m just gonna romp on kids with absolutely no idea what there doing than its going to be like an adult playing his 3 year old child at chess.

Look at the ME3 ending for example, 50,000 people asked for change. If that many flooded the forums for a ranked playlist then i could see it happening. Low forum population means they dont care for it otherwise they would speak about it.

You are not going to a 50 the first day or even the first month after launch are you? Unless you full party boost the crap out of it. I have been playing since the very beginning i know all the shady devious tricks to ranking up fast and doing it in a manner that would be frowned upon.
I dont think its a trueskill thing with you guys as much as its something to hold over others a achievement that you got to a 50. No matter what you did to get it, boosting, deranking, buying, or the very rare, earning it.

There are flaws with any system you put into place, so you will have a 50 or whatever who is bad, and you will get matched with them by trueskill. So you arent getting what you want, in the end, its all the same position youre in now, with a number visible rather than a rank.

The reach ranking system is massively flawed. Even in single digit onyx you get matched with silvers on a regular basis.

l0l0l0l0l. Halo 3 50’s were easy to get, i got them in a matter of 2-3 days without boosting. Half a day with boosting. It’s something to strive for, and something to hold over others. I don’t see a problem with that. It keeps the game interesting as well as keeping you matched with players of a similar skill level. It worked fine in previous halos and i don’t see why your against it. It doesn’t harm you in any way, it only helps us. The fact that you honestly don’t think a large amount of players earned 50’s legitimately tells me you spent little to no time in ranked and have no idea what your talking about.

Your 5 posts here tells me you only came here to fight, have a good one.

I certainly hope there’s a ranking system. Anything is better than Reach

Competitive Playlists - Halo 2’s Ranking System

Social Playlists - Reach’s Ranking System

Little bit of Halo 2, little bit of Reach. Thoughts?

I don’t need a number on the screen to tell me I am having fun.

Ask 343 for this, or wait for E3 XD

Trueskill or I’m not playing.

I hope it will have ranked and social. Already tired of Reach after not even 1000 matches in MP.

They should keep a similar system to reach where you have an overall rank which you can rank up using both ranked and social. Then have a ranked system like 1-50 or something like it. Or even a separate system where you rank up like halo 3 when you win games for ranked. Then everybody will be happy.

It better.
