Will halo 4 have kill streaks?

My friend just told me that a kill streak has been confirmed, he said that if you get a 5 kill streak you get to request a weapon drop and you can chose out of a few power weapons. If anyone can enlighten me I’de be very grateful.

Just like the cake, that is a lie.

There are no killstreaks, watch the E3 videos and you will se for yourself.

^^^^^Post of the day.

It takes the cake. :DDDD

Yes, at least, in some of Halo 4’s gamemodes. Certain members in the Waypoint community refuse to call them kill-streaks though. Watch this to find out more about Halo 4’s “kill-streaks” and just some general Halo 4 info.

In some gametypes (liek infinity slayer) yes. It’s all here http://halo.xbox.com/halo4

Thank you I got worried for a sec, I don’t think lil streaks would be good In halo

Well I’ve seen in a video someone getting a Killing Spree and nothing popped up for him! Also when players call down the ordinance(Which is actually in a video) this might be playlist specific or possibly something on the map you pick up. For example ordinance drops instead of a weapon you get a caller and now you can choose the weapon you want! Just read the thing! I think thats an interesting way to make another Slayer variant! Somewhat excited to try it out!

Sort of. They have the same premise, you get kills and you’re rewarded.

When you get a certain amount of kill points awarded from different actions (for example a headshot will reward more than a normal kill) in the game you get a choice of weapons or power ups, such as a movement speed increase, overshields or a rocket pistol. It’ll then appear in a certain location that you’ll get a notification of, but everyone else will get a notification of where it is too a short while afterwards. Or at least that’s how it was explained, I haven’t watched any videos on it.

Yes. There is a meter on your screen that when you fill up, you get to choose from 3 ordinance drops.

They’re kinda like killstreaks. In Infinity Slayer you gain points that rack up till you get enough for a weapon drop pod that comes down. The drop pod can be stolen by the enemy if it is ignored because the location is shown by a waypoint on everyones visor.

I believe the Ordinance meter is the box right above the Armor Ability meter. Just look at any of the videos and you’ll see a circle meter fill up around the box with each kill. In the War Games Gameplay video, the moment that one person gets an Ordinance Drop, the meter shows back up empty.

At 1:10 you can see the meter fill up and a medal pops up with the same box. I assume that’s a medal for getting the Ordinance. Then it immediatly jumps to a person who has used an ordinance. The meter doesn’t appear while he chooses which ordinance he wants, but comes back up after he picks the Scattershot.

Technically they are kill streaks but the guns that you can chose aren’t very good.

It’s because they are not Kill streaks

The progress bar fills up any number of ways, from assists to general scoring such as flag captures. It will progress for all actions negating the idea of a kill streak.

It also does not reset upon death. It’s an entirely different system and isn’t comparable to CoD

No.
The more points you got the faster you fill certain bar (not sure what they call it) Once you fill it, you can chose your reward. IMO it’s more like the adrenaline from Unreal Tournament 2k4. You can’t stack it to be used multiple times because once you get 100% adrenaline, further kills only count towards your spree, (even after death) until you initiate adrenaline combo (call for the drop in case of H4). Of course, the rewards and their mechanics are different.

Thank you everyone for filling me in on all the info I realy appreciate it, and ordinance drops don’t sound that bad.

Yes, Halo 4 will have kill streaks in SOME gametypes. So far it’s been confirmed to be in Infinity (or ordinance slayer, I forget the name) Slayer and Regicide. It’s also been confirmed that they will NOT be in default Team Slayer.

Yes folks, it’s possible to add features and not have them be in every single game type. Shocking, I know.
