Will Halo 4 DLC dictate available gametypes?

Microsoft and Bungie completely lost my trust as a consumer after matchmaking game-types in Halo 3 were stripped from those who did not cough up more money for new map packs. I still go back to play Halo 3 sometimes and it hurts that I can no longer play game-types such a big team battle or team doubles. These were game-types that I PAID FOR already. I don’t want the newer maps and I don’t want -Yoink- ODST. I’m sure you’ve heard these complaints before so I’ll stop there.

My question is: Will this same issue occur for Halo 4? And if so, how long will we, as consumers, continue to not do anything about it?

If you look at your reasoning you can also come to the conclusion that a system that still lets you play, like Reach’s those who have bought the maps are penalized.

You see, it’s the whole I spent more money on the game so I should get more priority and privilege thing. If I bought the maps, I want to play them. If you didn’t, well that’s your problem.

It was a joke that I bought all of the Halo: Reach map packs and NEVER see any of the maps because of people who didn’t want to purchase them. The whole not being able to play a specific gametype thing is actually excellent marketing, it gives you incentive to buy these maps.

You may not want these new maps, however it’s not right to deny those who bought the maps the ability to play on them like they did with Halo: Reach.

I mean, they could certainly have two playlists sets, One with DLC enabled and the other not, however that would further divide the community. If you want to play, you have to pay. And, as dickish as that seems it’s the harsh truth of the matter.

So dividing the community is a bigger issue than ripping off the community? “If you want to play, you have to pay” Yeah that’s the problem, I DID pay already. We all did. We paid for the game and we continue to pay for Live. We shouldn’t have to pay for any more than that for content that was originally available and is then taken away.

What you call excellent marketing, I call a slap in the face. You said yourself: they could certainly have two playlist sets. Why not? CoD has been doing it for years, and I don’t see any divide in the community there because of it. I can’t think of any other franchises that do this to their customers; and if they plan to do it for Halo 4, I will not be shoving any more money into their already deep pockets.
