Will Halo 4 bring back all of the fans disappointed with Halo Reach

Do you think Halo 4 will get all the Halo fans back.

There are fans they need to get back?

> There are fans they need to get back?

Seeing as Reach has the fastest declining online community in the series, I’d say yes, there are many fans they do in fact need to try and win back.

> There are fans they need to get back?

Have you seen Reach’s population decline rate and compared it to past games?
Oh, and they also need to keep the confidence of the fans who disliked Reach, and are giving Halo another chance.

I’m sure they left because of the competition other games put up now. Few games were on Halo’s level back in 2007/2008.

And I’m sure once MS starts the ad train rolling for Halo 4, those eho bought Reach and hated it will take notice.

Halo has always had competition. Halo 3 had to compete against Battlefield Bad Company 1 and 2, MW, MW2, Gears of War, and Gears of War 2. And it still kept a population above 200,000 at a time for 3 years and competed with MW2 for top-title for a while. Right out of the gate, Reach fell behind Black Ops and f-ing MW2, with its population resting at ~200,000 on average in just 3 months. Soon, it dropped to ~150,000 on average. And now it’s slipped behind Gears of War 3. And who knows how far behind it is now thanks to Battlefield 3? And when MW3 comes around? Oh boy…

Halo 4 needs to return to Halo, and not try to be a CoD, Shadowrun, Battlefield hybrid! And people who hate Reach won’t return if Halo 4 is basically Reach 1.5.

GreenDragon knows whats up. Listen to him.

Agreed with GreenDragon. Even if I love Reach, I don’t get the feel of Halo when I’m playing it and I hope I’ll get this feeling when I put my hands on H4.

Although Halo 3 withstood a lot of competition, MW2 made a pretty huge dent onto the population. But that really wasn’t Halo 3’s fault. But it’s a nice comparison that post-MW2, Halo 3 had population peaks of 100,000 and lowest population at 30,000 every day. This was already 3 years into the game’s lifespan and is roughly the same amount that Reach has now, only 1 year after release.

That said, popularity isn’t a real measure of quality. But that still doesn’t mean Reach is a good game. Halo 4 could easily bring those players back who left without dropping out the new fans. only group of players that would possibly leave is the small amount of people who have played Halo at least since release of Halo 3 and enjoy Reach.

It’ll be interesting to see can Halo 4 possibly reclaim the top place of Xbox Live charts.

Keep in mind that Halo 3 also had a lot of hype, which resulted in larger sales, which resulted in a population that lasted longer. Halo: Reach did not receive as much hype, and so did not do very well.

Halo 4 needs the hype Halo 3 had. How to earn this hype? Have a huge advertising campaign like Halo 3 did.

Stats don’t lie…

The problem for me is Reach just doesn’t flow like a Halo game AA’s make map design worthless eradicating map control, while matchmaking pits me agains 5 year old kids that don’t stand a chance!

Ranks, Zero Bloom, Movement, Weapon Balance and Pick ups = Halo saves in 10 seconds.

I dont think Halo needs to bring its fickle fans back, True fans followed and supported each step made by both Bungie and 343i.
Halo Reach is a truly outstanding game, With assassinations being a spectacular touch, I’m more than happy with the the game as a whole, although i think there could have been more colour choice in the Armory.

Fickle? You know, I don’t play Reach much, I haven’t played probably in a month. No one can still possibly claim that I’m not a true Halo fan. True fans don’t praise the developer whatever they do, those who do are called blind followers. True fans actually care about the franchise and if the developer makes a mistake, the fans tell that they are unhappy with the mistake.

Many true Halo fans were disappointed with Reach. Some don’t even call it a Halo game. Those are the truest fans because they want to protect their favorite franchise and not let it become anything the developers decides.

Halo is the Star Wars of video game industry and Reach is our Phantom Menace.

Same here. It lacks the feel of a Halo completely. With Halo 4 returning to the Master Chief and the epic/mysterious feel Halo was known for, we may well yet see Halo rise back towards the top.

Reach is a great game. It is a terrible Halo game.

I say good riddance to the fickle masses.

poor halo. its all alone!

FOR NARNIA!!!

I would be so awesome if Halo took over COD with sales, imagine how many people would be online in Halo

lolHalo 3 kids. Where are the people who know anything about Halo that made it so great in the first place. I’m very concerned by the amount of idiot suggestions to the point I don’t care for Halo 4.

Tsassi you are right but I hope halo 4 is not like Attack of the Clones
