THE NEW XBOX 720 WILL REQUIRE A CODE TO PUT IN AFTER BUYING A GAME SO THAT IT WON’T BE A PRE-OWNED GAME. ONCE YOU BUY, YOU MIGHT AS WELL KEEP IT. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE CURRENT 360 TITLES WE LOVE? WILL WE BE ABLE TO PLAY THEM ON THE UP AND COMING NEXT GEN CONSOLE? OR WILL WE HAVE TO BUY NEW 720 VERSIONS OF THE 360 TITLES? sauce?
no sauce, no eat.
Caps lock stuck or something bud, seriously.I’m sure 343 will make Halo 4 backwards compatible with the 720 since its a xbox exclusive franchise.343=Microsoft, and Microsoft would be fools to not have the entire Halo franchise compatible with the 720.
You might want to understand that everything written on the internet, may not be true at all times…

Here’s the thing about no used games on new consoles, it may sound bad at first, but in reality we will probably grow to like it. Right now places like GameStop are making as much money off of the game’s as the developers themselves, if not more, that’s not right at all, the developer should be rewarded the most for their game, not a used game store like GameStop.
With the elimination of used games, the developers will see more profits, and rightfully so, it is their game after all. I’ve watched a few videos on YouTube from WoodysGamertag on this very subject, and he too thinks no used games next gen will end up being a good thing.
Woody says that it will work similar to how Steam works, you buy games online through the service and stream them to your console. At first, the game will be full retail price like normal, but then soon after its release you’ll begin to see price drops and better deals on the games. Woody claims that the time it will take to see price cuts will be much shorter, for example, Halo 4 releases at $60 then 4-6 months down the road there is a deal on it to buy it for $20-$30 brand new, about the same as a used game, only, it will be new and the developer will still be profiting from it which will allow them to have more resources for the next game they make.
I think it’s about 50/50 that we see used games blocked on next gen consoles. I would still prefer they not be blocked, but I can also see the benefits to them being blocked. I would like to be able to borrow a game from a friend, but at the same time if it’s only $20 brand new, I might as well buy it and play it with him.
If I had to say right now, I would say that for the first year or so of the next gen used games will still be able to be played, but then we will start to see the transition into the used games being blocked through system updates, mandatory system updates. That will give gamers time to transition into the idea of no more used games and give places like GameStop time to rethink their business strategy so they don’t go belly up once the bans take place.
I do hope the 720 is backwards-compatible with 360. Perhaps even support online multiplayer for 360 games like Halo 4.
I’m sure this won’t happen. If it did, companies like GameFly would go out of business.
They have not announced the console yet so what makes you think anyone here knows if it will be playable on the nextgen Xbox?
I think they’ll remove backwards compatibility like Sony did and just resell the titles on Xbox Live.
Wonder what would happen to the car market if people couldn’t sell their used cars before buying a new one…
just saying.
If that happened the new Xbox sales would be down the toilet.
And why are you yelling?

Capslock is cruise control for cool.
Yeah, it’ll be limited if they made the next gen 360 oppressive.
First of all, those are just rumours, don’t go passing them off as the truth. Everything you hear about the next generation of Xbox should be taken with a grain of salt until it’s been officially announced.
That being said, nobody knows if it will be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games. Once again, stay tuned until it’s been officially announced before getting details.

Double edge sword eh. At the start people wont buy the console because of used games. But what about publishers? They will see this as a way too stop used games. So they may start only putting out the good games on the next xbox… Because they will end up getting more money and used games will be extinct.
I would think so.
The real question is will halo 3 be playable on the xbox 720
Supposedly new gen consoles wont have backwards compatibility, and you’ll have to re-buy games digitally to play on the new consoles

Amen brother
First of all, turn off your caps lock! Second, we don’t know for sure if they will require codes. For now, it’s just a rumor.
