Just your thoughts, simple question. I wanted a poll.
I’m gonna say it all depends on the quality of the maps. Even TU Reach is an enjoyable game, but maps like Countdown, Reflection, and Sword Base keep it from being that way.
Don’t know for sure yet. I’m extremely optimistic but the map quality may ultimately be a deciding factor. For the record, I think Haven looks like it will play very, very well indeed. Even Adrift has a nice flow to it that I barely saw in Reach at all.
Looks like Halo 4.
A casual game designed for casuals that MLG will have to strip to the bone to get competitive settings.
I don’t see how promethean vision and the weapons will be balanced when there is so much duplication and randomization.
I’m yet to see anything that would really introduce a higher skillgap only crutches that will make an already frustrating p2p game moreso.
If all the AAs and weapons are balanced it’s going to destroy 2, 3 & Reach.
To me I can’t tell it apart from Reach right now, but I have faith it’ll work a lot better with better maps and the fact 343 is actually going to finish it unlike Bungie with Reach where they just threw everything they had done together at the end.
It looks to be this way.
Adding Promethean Vision into the list of AAs can be useful to find invisible people. At the same time, making Sprint something anyone can do is a huge step into the right direction as it nerfs itself, and gives players more options to work against other players and their weapons and AAs than (for example) just having Hologram in Reach.
As for maps, I’ll need more info. But it looks like Haven may be a fun map to play in.
> If all the AAs and weapons are balanced it’s going to destroy 2, 3 & Reach.
You’re right it will destroy their legacy.
It will be a good game in comparison to other MP based FPS’s but it will be bad compared to other Halo’s, just like Reach was.
It looks good. Not sure it’ll be amazing. But if it’s better than Reach and Halo 3, I’m happy.
On the market, it will do very well as it’s a Halo game, one of the best-selling FPS franchises ever.
On preference, it’s really a matter of opinion. Me personally, I think it looks great but I know people will disagree with me.
now that more people have played the game, what do people think?
Gimme a sec…
…okay…
…AHA! Just as I suspected. My magic 8 ball says “Cannot predict now”
Didnt play it yet so I cant judge the quality.
Looks like Reach 2.0
I’m sorry, is “looks like another Reach” supposed to be a negative option? Because that’s not clear, and totally open to interpretation.
From the gameplay i 've seen, halo 4 is a mix between halo 3 and reach. 343i is doing great job adding new features to halo
Alright, so thank you to those who pointed out this was a 3 month old BLATANT bump.
For shame!
This thread can continue AS LONG as valid discussion is present… for my part:
Judging from my time playing with it, which is just Spartan Ops and War Games, I would say it’s a nice return to the feelings of previous Halos, while bringing a LOT of new stuff to the table. The game is totally different, to be sure, but these new elements combine to make a really familiar and simultaneously fresh experience. I think, for me, I’ve seen enough from the multiplayer to know the game will indeed at least meet my expectations. Whether or not it surpasses them and blows the other Halos out of the water is dependant on whether they can pull off their really ambitious campaign… That remains to be seen.
A 3 month bump? No, just make a new damn thread.

Well its negative because Reach isn’t as popular or acclaimed as Halo 3. So do you think its going to be like Reach in that most players will stop playing and it won’t be as popular as the previous games?

This one already has votes so why make a new one and lose those?

This is true, just, next time, don’t say “bump” because that doesn’t start a discussion again (it’s also against the rules). Something along the lines of “hey, so now that more people have played the game, what does everyone think?”
BACK ON TOPIC! has anyone else played at PAX?
