After months of not playing halo 5 I finally put in the disc and see Halo 3 Throwback. My question - Is this a permanent gamemode or will it be seasonal. Personally this is pretty much the only reason Ive been playing Halo 5 so I’m curious.

Sadly, it is not going to be permanent, but removed after a period of time. However, they have stated that if they observe a positive enough response to it, it will most absolutely return often!
Personally, I don’t really care if it stays or goes. I’m terrible at the playlist anyways.
If it’s popular, the chances of it staying will be greatly increased.
It depends if the playlist is popular enough for it to return in the future.

I hope its popular enough to stay. Like the OP said this was also the only reason I turned on Halo 5 on after not playing it in months. I like the graphic beauty that is Halo 5 but I get sick of the Spartan gymnastics.

No I totally get it. Necro posting is rampant in forums along with repeated threads.
I agree - after months of inactivity on Halo 5, the Halo 3 throwback list has me back and actually enjoying myself again. I’d all but abandoned 343 since the disaster that is the Master Chief Collection and how poorly they’ve treated their customers in their response, or lack there of, to a definitive direction (good or bad) for that game. So this playlist has been a breath of fresh air, albeit a small one as I still truly believe this franchise couldn’t be in worse hands than the ones it currently finds itself in today.
