Hi everybody! I wanted to play the Halo 2 campaign again, but I do not own an Xbox one for the Master Chief Collection, and paying $350 for one game seems like a little much to me. I was thinking about getting it for my computer, but I heard games for windows live shut down. I was just wondering if I will still be able to play the single player campaign without windows live. I would appreciate any info. Also, it works on windows 7 as well as vista, right?
It still works. The live service wasn’t cut off, it was the GFWL Marketplace that was shutdown. There is some free patch you will need to download for it to run on Windows 7.
Thank you for the info, I will probably order it off amazon this week, unless I talk myself into buying an Xbox one.
Wait, since the marketplace shut down, are you sure I will be able to activate it?

I currently have it on Windows 8 and it works fine. MP is still available too.
Yes it will still work. I installed it to a new computer last year, after the marketplace was shutdown. The marketplace was just like the Xbox marketplace, buy games and dlc.
Ok then thanks guys
I myself was wondering if it’d run on Windows 7 as I wanted to get this game, since I finally have a PC to run it.
I could run it on 8.1, so no problem…
