Just wondering if Halo 2 (disk) works on Windows 7 cause I see one on the shelf at a shop lying there somehow unused, and I haven’t played Halo 2 in years because my Xbox 360 Slim has decided to stop working the first 2 Halo games (yes I have an official hard drive and have my Xbox fully updated)
It varies for some odd reason. I’ve got it on Windows 7 and it works just fine. However, I’ve heard other people having problems with it. Give it a try! Cherish these last few weeks until H2V’s online multiplayer gets shut down!

Do you mean the Xbox disk of halo 2 or the vista disk of halo 2?

OldDougie, if you changed computers, you may need to get back on the old one and log out/ uninstall from your old computer. I had the same problem. This is how I got mine to work
Halo 2 Vista might have compatibility issues on some computers running Windows 7, however a clean install of Windows 7 or Windows 8 is pretty much guaranteed to be able to run Halo 2 Vista.

They is some options here hope this helps you.
If you are getting that Server error then install the Game for Windows Client, then your Halo 2 should run perfectly.
