We know that sprint will be toggleable in custom games so we can play without all the spartan abilities, but do you think we’ll ever get to to play a more classic version of H5 in matchmaking? I’m guessing if they do it will be something like “Team Hardcore” and just feature 4v4 slayer and objective with the spartan abilities disabled.
So, do you think we’ll get to see something like this at launch? Or do you think 343i are too focused on all the new spartan abilities and want to focus all of matchmaking to use the new abilities so we don’t see a divide in the player base? Maybe they will even just launch with all playlists having spartan abilities and based on feedback just add in one a month after launch.
Personally, I’m completely fine with the spartan abilities and even enjoy them so I don’t really care if all playlists include sprint, but I would be interested to know what other people think on the matter.

I sure hope so. At least one no-sprint playlist at launch would be nice. Otherwise, it’ll be nice to have the option in custom games and all, but without a proper custom games browser (still a pipe dream at this point), it will be rather pointless.
Doubt it, but we can hope!
I don’t think it will launch with one. The maps wouldn’t play right without sprint, and I think even the anti-sprint crowd can agree with that. There would have to be separate maps made for a no-sprint playlist, and I just can’t see that happening. They might do it post-launch, but then the maps will all be forge maps, and people don’t want that either.
Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised though.

I just reported it as spam when I saw it the first go around. Because it is.
I think they should include a modern series of playlists, and a traditional ‘legendary’ series of playlists without Sprint and SAs to accommodate both types of fans.
They have confirmed you can toggle the Spartan Abilities, I dont doubt there will be a classic slayer playlist

…Only after the beta which means they didn’t even consider it to begin with. So yes there are some doubts.
I don’t think there will ever be a “classic” playlist with no sprint. I doubt you’ll even see some playlists like SWAT or doubles until a few months after launch. That’s how they did it for Halo 4 and MCC so I expect the trend to continue.
No it wont be there at launch.
The first playlist that goes no sprint will most likely be the “MLG” type playlist.

Really? Did you even read the post? This isn’t a sprint hate thread at all, I even mentioned how I enjoy the spartan abilities and wouldn’t really care if they didn’t add a no sprint playlist. I was just curious to know whether or not people thought 343i would add in a no sprint playlist.
I’ve never seen a thread before with the same topic as a no sprint playlist at launch so this isn’t even spam.
Just because there’s the word sprint in the post it doesn’t mean it’s automatically spam.
They should just port over the H2A maps for the playlist along with some bland forge world maps.
