Will H2 Get Weapon/ Vehicle Skins/ Visor Colors?

Basically what the topic title asks. I see that Halo 1, 3, Reach, and 4 have been getting new content on the MCC, but not Halo 2 (classic or anniversary).

Anniversary will more than likely get new content at some point.

Halo 2 Classic probably will not. The code for that game is incredibly unstable and hard to work with.

Nothing has been confirmed, but we will have to wait and see.

H2A has been teased for a ton of content from thorage, to visors, to skins.

H2C has had hints they may be restoring some under the hood content, such as the Silenced SMG and GPMG, possibly more if things go well.

I have been making posts along the same exact lines as this one.

We still have a few more season to hope for it. Tho personally I really want cross-play campaign

343 is also likely to cover MCC for more than 10 seasons, considering the fact that everyone still loves classic Halo and there are over 100 armor sets to add in from Halo Online, a lot of cut content to be still added in for Halo Reach and Halo 4, and all the contents of Halo 5 Guardians that could be added to Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary in terms of armor sets. Halo 5’s weapon skins and visor colors should come over into all the other games as well. Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 4 should merge their map pools, armories, and gameplay assets into one as I have said in the above links. Plenty of opportunities to expand Halo CE, Halo 2 Classic, and Halo 3 ODST’s armories and map rosters.

343 claimed that they were likely to go beyond 10 seasons and that is how they could do so. The real question is what to call those seasons? Orion, Majestic, Osiris, Leonidas, Sanhelios, Requiem, Ark, and Spirit of Fire come to mind for titles.

I personally would like to see them add these things to Halo 2 but no idea if it’ll come to light.

Another thing that they could do is add in new PvP maps for Halo 2 Classic and Halo 2 Anniversary.

Halo 2 Classic is just Halo 2 Vista ported onto the Xbox. It came with a map editor that allowed players to essentially have a dev kit. It came with a pre-built map called “Example”. So why not take that pre-built map and 6 other amazing maps from the Halo 2 Vista days in order to extend Halo 2 Classic with a pseudo-DLC. Just take the top rated maps from Halo 2 Vista’s custom maps file-share, find which ones are best made for PvP in both casual and ranked, and add them in.

As for Halo 2 Anniversary? H2A’s Multiplayer and Halo 4 share the same engine. So I believe that Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary’s Map rosters should be merged together. Imagine playing Longbow, Ragnarok, and Shatter in Halo 2 Anniversary or playing Zenith, Stonetown, and Bloodline in Halo 4?

Fr, if they mess with the coding anymore, we’ll either have even worse hit scan than we have on MCC or they’ll whack sum up where we’ll be able to quintuple shot LOL.

I remember a few of those vista maps, I still play cartographer every now and then when MCC hit scan pisses me off. But the octagon for H2 is rly good. Too bad it can’t be ported over. It would be impossible for them to make new H2A maps because a whole different company made them. So it would be ridiculously hard for them to get the company to do that.

Not really. Certain Affinity is a helper company that specializes in multiplayer. They have made most of the CoD DLC maps, they made the DLC Maps for Reach and some for Halo 4, and they even made the Doom 2016 Multiplayer from the ground up.

As cool as skins in Halo 2 classic would be cool, I can definitely see it not happening. The only thing I’d like them to do with Halo 2 classic is give it the same sort of treatment Halo CE got with the recent bug fixes they did (bump mapping, lighting changes, fixed Keyes, etc.) as the vista port had similar problems, not as bad as CE for what I could tell but still things that could make it play and look more like the og Xbox port would be nice. Other than that I think any new content should go to anniversary just because it’s just severely lacking in content compared to everything else and as you said Halo 2 classic is just a nightmare to tamper with. I feel it’s super underrated but anniversary just needs more stuff like maps and customization items and I feel people would play it more.

Still would be hard for them to create new maps for H2A, honestly idk how 343 would come up to them with an offer.

Well… Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer and Halo 4 share the same engine. So they could just merge the map rosters as a start. There is also the cut DLC that Halo 4 was supposed to get, but 343 scrapped it because Halo 4 lost player count numbers in record time (most players dropped the game 6 months post-launch). This DLC map pack was supposed to have -

  • Arrowhead - Unnamed Underwater Covenant Location - Genessis - Last Resort Remake - Narrows Remake - Unnamed ONI Bog Map
