Will four arena games affect your level?

I know you have to play four games to get your Daily Rating, which I also realize doesn’t necessarily mean anything other than showing off your best games.
My question would be: if you play three games, realize that you were in the bottom four more than you were in the top, can you simply not play the fourth game so the two or three bad ones won’t affect your division standings?

I meant for this post title to be THREE instead of four…haha, oh well.

Every game you play affects your TrueSkill, which is what determines your Division. Ratings have nothing to do with your Division. All that matters is whether you win or lose the game.

Thanks. That’s what I assumed but I just wanted to make sure.
There was one day where I did particularly bad for three games and decided to see what would happen if I didn’t play the fourth. I was Silver, borderline Gold division, and the next day I was gold. I guess the curve just went down and pushed me over, but it definitely seemed like I should have gone waaaay down, haha.

Also, I read that even if you lose, but are in the top four as far as ratings for that game go, you’ll still move up. Yes? No?

No, it only worked like that in Seasons 1-6. It’s the same system as 1-50 from Halo 3 now. The only difference is that your rank is based on how your TrueSkill compares to the population rather than just showing you the number.

I’m not doubting you, but do you have an article/post on that? I’d just be interested in reading it.

It was mentioned here. It was also mentioned by Jeremiah a few times on the Optimatch forum on bungie.net, but it’s deleted now.

Awesome, thanks a lot sir.
I forget to check bungie.net sometimes…they didn’t update for a while so I kind of switched to waypoint, heh.
