Will Firefight be a simulation or "real"?

I know that all the multiplayer is supposed to be wargames in preparation for the Spartans fighting in Halo 6. But it would be cool IMO if they made firefight an exception and maybe added a little bit of text to introduce the “Escape from Arc” mission for example or had certain objectives unique to that map. Not full Spartan Ops but make it an actual battle instead of a simulation would be kind of neat.

Well like Invasion. I bet this is still a simulation. Though I have to wonder is the previous versions of Firefight called Warzone Firefight in-universe.

Nah. I don’t know if you remember, but Colonel Holland would brief you before and after every firefight mission. I guess it was real…

It’s a simulation

At the same time, we have Palmer briefing us as we go into Warzone, and it’s stated in-game that it’s a simulation. A simulation’s specifically designed to make those taking part feel the effects of actual combat. So mission briefings and debriefings are going to be part of that.
Based on the above, I’ll safely assume that it’s a simulation until it says otherwise.

they are considering it warzone-firefight

It’s a simulation, 'cause you can see a Full Red Promethean Knight

Its going to be a simulator due to

The unsc already defeating the covenant with the swords of sangheilio’s at sunion on the mission behind enemy lines. The covenant gave up after this. And on warzone you notice that all covenent enemys are discolored and not they normal color. More of a redish color.

Oh no, I don’t like the idea of making the enemies all red and hazy because its a simulation. I would prefer if they kept the enemies campaign graphics, like in regular warzone.

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Covenant as enemies in campaign; only the Storm variety under Jul. Note that Covenant troops were being brought in from all the worlds the Guardians were on, so they can’t have all been on Sanghelios. Either they will be a third faction or some will join the Created because “we must serve the Forerunner machine gods!”.

False actually. We don’t know of the Covenant gave up after this. Jul 'Mdama died in the first mission but the Covies continued to fight. The Covenant Remanent was broken, not destroyed. There will be other groups to splinter from it. Why do you think the Covenant Remanent and Swords Of Sanghelios formed in the first place? Because the Covenant Empire was broken. Cut off the head of the hydra and it grows two more.

In terms of if Warzone Firefight will be a simulation, it probably will be hence Warzone in the name. If it’s not there’s always a possibility that it is a true operation. If it is a simulation however, they could explain the enemies colors as them being from the Swords Of Sanghelios. It could be a sort of force on force training the UNSC has. We’ve already seen something like it in the Anvil Initiative.

I’m pretty sure firefight has always been real, but I don’t think this will be, purely because of the title ‘warzone’ firefight.

Warzone Firefight is a simulation, it’s in the name. Plus there’s no explanation for the extracts that we’ve seen. (the Alluvion Research Center was destroyed before the events of Halo 5)

For standard Firefight, I bet it’s also a simulation, maybe on a smaller scale. It doesn’t really matter if you hear Holland. Either he’s still alive, or it’s just a voice recording to make the events more real. (like in the UNSC tactical simulator)

I don’t see how Spartans could have fought for real during these events, especially at locations such as Ardent Prayer… I say it’s a simulation.

All firefight has been in existing maps in scenarios it doesn’t make sense for the main char to be in, they all simulations.

They make more sense than Wargames do TBH, there’s very little reason to train to fight other spartans.

Since it’s called Warzone Firefight, and Warzone is a simulation, I’m assuming it’s a simulation as well.

The only way it would ‘real’ 'was if it was basically Spartan Ops but with the massed enemies of Firefight, however it being branded Firefight would suggest it is like the others; and is just an endurance simulation.
I just hope it has exciting variants e.g. a mode that is basically Warzone with tons of A.I and a huge total to win; which if they are calling it Warzone Firefight, I imagine will be the case. Flood mode. Generator defence. Space scenarios a la Long Night of Solace.
