It would be interesting to see if they’ve been ‘adopted’ by the UNSC. At the end of Halo 3: ODST we saw the humans show an interest in them.
Do you guys think they might play a role in Halo 5?
Here is your answer: Kilo-5 trilogy.
Engineers could be in H5 but I don’t see a role for them gameplay wise. They would probably just be off on the sidelines floating around the Infinity. I would like to see our floating friends make a return though.
There was also a nod to them on a mission in H4 when you were on the Infinity.
(Maybe another escort mission with them giving us shields but that was kind of annoying in ODST.)
As long as they have a particular use in the story, and are exclusive to cutscenes only, nothing else, then yes. They provide absolutely nothing to gameplay, other than useless shielding, which is not very difficult to take down at all.
I doubt they would ever have as much screen time as they did in ODST, but at least they are floating around in the Infinity working away at it…
I wouldn’t mind having them make a comeback, hell, I’d love a mission similar to the last level on ODST where you have to escort the Engineer out of the city.
well the forerunners did build them so it might be useful to have one or two around
I don’t think they’ll play as much of a center role like they did in ODST. As far as playing a role in the story, I actually doubt it.
To me, they’re just those little squeakers up in the sky who make my life harder because I want to blow them to smithereens, and at the same time, I feel bad for them.
I am way too attached to AI characters.
An Engineer cutscene I’d like to see:
The Infinity is under attack and falling apart, and some major character (Chief, Lasky, Thel) looses their foothold and falls into their fiery fate. An Engineer catches them, saving their lives, and PLOT TWIST it’s Virgil.
Alternate way of that going:
The falling character is Palmer.
Lose your grip, heroic Engineer.
i’d love to see somekind of visual comeback of those cute little squids.
Virgil is a sub routine of the superintendent… Did you mean… Quick to Adjust?
I’d like huragoks! I’d like huragok! I’d like huragoks! I want huragoks! Huragoks are awesome! In game play they could work too, overshields, repairing stuff, maybe serving as ammo resupply points? Maybe serving as vehicle fixers! Opening doors, interacting with tech… I’d like huragok to become important, I’d like at least one to go With John and provide him with ammo, upgrades, etc. Halo 5 maybe won’t be like that but if it was a more open world campaign, could you imagine having a ship and then a huragok you could interact with? Imagine he upgrades your gear, makes ammo, makes various gadgets… huragok are amazing! Hu-ra-gok hu-ra-gok hu-ra-gok!
I’d really like to see the UNSC-allied Huragok in action because for some reason, despite the UNSC Infinity having them on board, they are conveniently absent when the vessel receives the damage that it seems to be so talented in receiving.
I think they’d also be a nice addition to gameplay. (PvE gamemodes only, of course)
Warthog heavily damaged?
Call down a Huragok.
> Warthog heavily damaged?
>
> Call down a Huragok.
Now this is what I want to see.
