Halo wars, (insert doge meme here) what am halo wars? do you mean the silver/ side cannon game that 343 decided to poorly tie into the mainline story so we’d have some bootleg covenant to fight, who cares about that bland RTS, and the made up characters form it? most of red team died in the defense of reach, or haven’t you read halo first strike.
also isn’t the “red team” on spirit of fire mostly spartan washouts? of course they lost to mad monkey man atriox, how could they not. i’m honestly surprised the UNSC even gave them weapons and Mjolnir, as they are a complete liability having failed their augmentation. here is yet another plot hole from the 343
Ensemble Studios made Halo Wars before 343 took the reigns of the franchise in 2010.
Red Team in Halo First Strike was the replacement Red Team, as The Spirit of Fire went M.I.A./L.W.A.H. in 2531 and Halo First Strike takes place in 2552.
And Spartan II washouts were still highly-valuable assets. Those that could get their augments fixed would still be fielded in some capacity, some as Spartans and others as Marines such as Ralph-S103. Meanwhile others that were far too incapacitated would serve the UNSC in other manners off the field, such as Serin Osman AKA Serin-S019 who is now the Head of O.N.I.

bungie constantly ret-conned their own material, first strike came out in 2003 and halo wars launched in '09. lets not forget that not one spartan team was ever set in stone and Spartans were constantly reassigned to different teams based on mission needs. except john as he was the DeFacto leader of the Spartans, though I’m pretty sure once or twice he designated his team as “red”.
