Will Didact, Librarian be in Halo 6?

Just wondering what your thoughts are. Will they make a comeback in some shape or form, or have their storylines finished for good? I know Didact’s story continued (and presumably ended) in Escalation, but you never know. The Librarian, she officially died on Earth during the Forerunner-Flood War, but she could come back as a memory/hologram like in Halo 4.
Anyway, thoughts?

I have to say that the absence of the Didact and the Librarian was one of my least favourite things about Halo 5’s campaign. I understand the Didact was ‘contained’ in Escalation; but I felt in H4 that 343 were setting him up to be the primary boss guy in H5 and then suddenly it’s not the case. Also the Librarian and accelerating Chief’s evolution - all forgotton about in H5.

In answer to your question, I do hope they bring back these characters for H6

Agreed. I was expecting him to be the main antagonist of the Reclaimer trilogy (or saga). Many unanswered questions. I’d also love to see the Gravemind return.

The Librarian is dead, so unless we find another imprint of herself I doubt we will see her again, the Didact is composed and everything depends on whether or not they gave him a reason to not end as a mindless Knight, I wonder if Endurance composing herself could a clue of a way to not losing the mind in the process.

The Didact should have been in Halo 5, I see no reason why they didn’t have him in there… 343i did a terrible job at continuing the story that was set up in Halo 4, there’s absolutely no connection between it and Halo 5. They could have easily said that the Warden Eternal was the composed Didact, and it would have made things much better.

we need the Didact back in Halo 6 !!!

The Didact could still return as some sort of construct or disembodied intelligence. Maybe the Librarian did leave more of her virtual presences scattered around, but at this point is the Halo story, what more can those offer? There are other important Forerunners we’ve yet to see in any game, in particular the Bornstellar-Didact and Chant-to-Green, both whom survived the firing of the Halos. These two would presumably be allies of humanity if they were to be reintroduced: The Bornstellar-Didact had befriended two devolved humans, and Chant-to-Green was the Librarian’s personally chosen successor. Both demonstrated their approval for the future Reclaimers by visiting with humans at the Lesser Ark before Earth was repopulated.

And I’m still waiting on Offensive Bias. Not one word about this ancilla has been uttered since the fleshing out of its involvement in the final effort against the Flood in Greg Bear’s last Halo book, yet as known AIs of the Halo universe go, Offensive Bias is a legitimate big deal, having been so critical to efforts of its biological counterparts.

Wrong place to post this.

Not really. This is just Halo 5 in general. Its not specific.

I hope they do make some type of appearance. After Halo 4 (and somewhat Escalation) I was excited to see how he would be used and maybe surprise us by showing up. I did a thread about this and how I feel like Halo 4 just felt like filler and completely forgettable and almost non-existent in Halo 5. He got mentioned what like 3 times in the whole campaign? After all this build up in the novels and in Halo 4 they just suddenly disappeared. I was very disappointed about it and I hope that wasn’t the last we’ve seen of them.

Librarian maybe, but Didact I don’t think will return in Halo 6, if he does, it’ll be a flashback or something.

Every time I see something about the Didact makes me realize I still haven’t looked into Escalation.

The Librarian did leave her imprint on one of her workers (forgot what they were called off the top of my head) so it is possible we could see a form of her. With the Ur-Didact dead I guess it’s possible we could run into the Iso-Didact but last I remember he wasn’t psycho like Ur-Didact that was in Halo 4

Librarians workers were called Lifeshapers, just remembered. She had left her imprint on her most trusted Lifeshaper. We could possibly see her or the Iso-Didact

the connection is a series of comics with horrible art and Brian Reed called Escalation.

Do yourself a favor and don’t. Worst comic in Halo history. Don’t waste your money. Watch a recap on youtube or something. You will be glad you did.

The escalation plot can be summarised in one sentence. Everything that happened in halo 4 is now irrelevant.
