Will Default infection still be in?

I hope so, or at least give us the capability to give the flood infected weapons, because otherwise many classic custom games won’t be possible anymore.

Just to give an example of some

Fat Kid
Duck Hunt
Infection Mazes (Requires infected to have Grav Hammer)
Trash Compactor/Tetris
Jenga

(Not hating on the new Infection, how could you? I just hope there is adequate custom options to make our old favorites still possible)

Some of these are probably possible without the use of weapons but a lot of them wont be, what are your thoughts?

If its there, I hope it’s in customs. But then again I’m one of those guys that thinks grifball belongs in action sack and infection on special weekends.

I would expect you can modify the gametype so that it very closely resembles infection from previous Halos. 343i has talked a lot about the level of customization they’re putting in the game.

Just for customs will be fine, “Flood mode” should definitely be in Matchmaking, it’s just too awesome not to be, i just hope we’re given enough customization options to recreate some of those beloved gametypes.

All you have to do is take off their shields.

For variation and to respect Infection’s cutsom Halo 2 based origins I think classic sword wielding spartan infection should remain as well as adding the long awaited Flood-Zombiie Infection.

Default Infection is ONLY needed for Customs.

Flood Mode needs to be in Living Dead 24/7, with Infection staying as far away as possible.

besides, Halo has always had its high customization. I can’t imagine Flood not being able to carry weapons. and canon-wise, training Spartans against the Flood makes complete sense, but not every Flood doesn’t know how to use weapons. I believe the “claw” they have is actually just a skin for the Energy Sword, similar to Golf Club to the Gravity Hammer. If you look at the picture, the Flood the on the left is swinging his “claw” with the same animation the Energy Sword does. So, if you go into Custom options for Flood Mode, there’s Energy Sword as an option, but in Flood Mode, it has a skin over it. However, that would also mean the “claw” makes plasma sound, so… idk.

I’ve been wanting Flood in Infection since it was first created. No offence, but I don’t want to see Spartans with swords ever again.

Not in matchmaking, just for custom games like Ghostbusters, because without regular infection them sort of games are no longer possible.

If halo 4 doesn’t have infection, or at least doesn’t have the customization options for flood (which I doubt that they would just leave it out) then they have totally ruined Halo 4

If classic infection isn’t in Halo 4 it wouldn’t bother me. It’s a broken game type, the infected are at such a disadvantage. I’m hoping the new Flood gametype is much better.

But for all of you who like getting roflstomped as infected, I hope the options will be there for customs.

Don’t worry guys, you will always have the ability to hold weapons as the infected. It just might exclude the new “FLOOD” appearance. You can alter the “appearance” of the infected in custom game options. So if you change the appearance to “SPARTAN”, they hold weapons right? Well there you go, PROBLEM SOLVED!

IMO these are not infection they are mini games.

But you use the infection template/gametype to make these games.

Yes I know that, but when people think of default infection they talk about the custom game versions like the ones mentioned above and not the default or classic Halo 2 styled versions. I’m just stating it because it seemed like these were the only versions of infection that plagued Reach and Halo 3 custom games. Don’t get me wrong I love customs and options for customs but its a bit much when the only invites I got to customs was these every time.

I believe that the choice to play as a flood form should not be forced, but should be optional. Like OP stated, sometimes being a flood just doesn’t work. I have a game time I plan to create which features disguiser zombies - zombies that look just like humans.
