I hope that will happen

She will be back, just not in the capacity you’re hoping.
She will come back. Main characters are typically used as cliffhangers to sell the next installment. I bet she even becomes a human at the end. That’s what I got out of all the obvious clues.
EDIT: What I mean by her becoming human is that I predict that she somehow gets a flesh body by means of human and/or Forerunner technology near the end in order to save her. The reason I predict this is because Halo 4 made it seem like Chief was becoming more machine and Cortana was becoming more human, so maybe they’ll sort of trade places. We’ll see I guess.

How do you know, can you explain the capacity a little more?
I only have the feeling that she will come back, but it’s how that I can’t imagine. It would have to have something to do with either the Librarian or the Composer.

Franky said she’s dead for sure, but she still plays a role in Halo 5. She is kind of a recurring vision, a hallucination if you will, that the Chief has, which in itself represents how he was broken at the loss of her at the end of Halo 4, but these visions also convey messages and information to him that lead him to the various locations throughout Halo 5, or at least for now, the mining planet, Meridian.
No.
Cortana isn’t fully returning, but a broken rampant Cortana will be the antagonist in H5G

No, you’re probably wrong.

Unless it isn’t a rampant, broken Cortana.
Cortana needs to stay dead, otherwise it kinda undermines Chief’s development.
Plus it would cheapen the story to bring someone back that just died. The only reason this is such a big deal because cortana was a huge character in the halo universe but people need to get over her death.

She already is a human. Her human form is named “Dr. Halsey”
Resurrection in Halo happen already, SGT Johnson surviving installation 04’s destruction has never had explanation and it’s not like 343i can’t space magic up a Cortana resurrection.

There was an entire book that explained how Johnson got off the ring…

Please provide a source by Bungie that confirmed the death of Johnson before the release of the book Halo: First Strike that showed he and several others took a Pelican and hid on a nearby moon of Threshold’s and the comic anthology The Halo Graphic Novel that showed Johnson fight his way out of the Flood containment facility.

Just because they did it once does not mean they should do it again. Plus that was bungie not 343.

Uh, Sgt Johnson didn’t just magically survive Installation 04. He and several others evacuated by Pelican and met up with Master Chief.

then why did he say it’s a secret in Halo 2?
I hope Cortana doesn’t come back, and I hope Chief also bites the metaphorical, or literal, bullet. I am tired of hearing “is cortana gonna come back?” and “nobody can beat chief!”

Because there was information involving the ORION project and Johnson. And also to avoid like 30 minutes of exposition.
