Will Cortana die in the end of the new series?

Well her 7 year life span is running up…do you think she will die? Or find a way to live longer?

I think she’ll die in 5 or 6.

Most Likely

no artificial intelligence that produces such a hot hologram can die.

if you can read this, zoom out please

To be honest,

Unless 343 Industries drastically develop both her and John’s characteristics in the Reclaimer Trilogy then I wouldn’t really mind if both of them died.

We have no idea what kind of Ancient Evil lurks in Halo 4 yet but it has to be one that ultimately affects the story and focuses on the two if the characters wish to be much more interesting.

Right now John and Cortana are simply General Mascot Characters like Mario and Sonic. The Halo Books don’t detail their emotional statures save for Karen Traviss’ Halo Evolutions Story on the conflict of Cortana and The Gravemind.

How cool would it be if Cortana was somehow put into a physical form? Like turned into a Monitor or something?

real life Cortana

What a caterpillar calls death, a butterfly calls life.

> What a caterpillar calls death, a butterfly calls life.

not to be technical sir, but the caterpillar doesn’t die, dormant cells activate inside the chrysalis which use the energy stored from it’s life as a caterpillar to form a butterfly, or a moth. yes some cells are broken down, but nothing really ceases to function. o

Chief has to die. He has to. Imagine the ultimate epicness when Chief dies. Spines will be shivering for hours on end.

Remember how awesome it felt when Noble 6 died, that music, the atmosphere, the knowledge you knew that you were dead, everything (except that cheesy voiceover by Dr Halsey at the end which ruined everything). Now that was Noble 6. Who actually cared about Noble 6. No one. So imagine the pathos associated with MC’s death.

Way to suck the metaphoric right out of the package
Even if you don’t realise it, you understand quite fine.

Every time Cortana broke in to spout some meaningless drivel in H3, I got extremely annoyed. So I really, really hope Cortana actually dies this time around.

Cortana NEVER dies…

I think chief will find a way to make her live longer. Maybe she will know shes about to die so she sacrifices herself for chief??

I hope so, I’ve found almost all female characters in Halo to be extremely annoying, with exception to Miranda Keyes.

I would like Kat, but her accent makes me want to nail myself to a tree in the middle of the road, doused in gasoline.

> Cortana NEVER dies…

She’s just missing in action

neh neh neehhhhhh

I think there is going to be Forerunner technology discovered or brought to light that will help Cortana fight rampancy and lengthen her life-span.

Think about it, Forerunners made A.I.'s that live for millions of years and this next game takes place on an actual Forerunner colony world (or so we’ve been led to believe.) Surely she’ll be able to figure something out after interacting with so much Forerunner tech and at least two Forerunner A.I.'s in the original trilogy (Guilty and Tangent.) There’s also a pretty good chance she’ll interact with Mendicant Bias in Halo 4, if not (surviving) Forerunners themselves.

If there is a way to do this, it should come at some sort of risk or cost though. That would make for a more interesting story.
