I’m saying this because Chief has never gotten one but at the end of the E3 trailer it shows him getting knocked out by a promethean knight so does that mean he’ll be a prisoner of war. P.S. Im assuming he’ll be a POW because he got knocked out so the Prometheans would most likely take him to their base or some prison. DISCUSS!

Pretty sure when the rebels knocked him unconscious and chained him and Blue Team to a wall counts as “captured”.

But after all thinking, it sounds reasonable for the story line that the New threat would capture Chief after that cryptom scans Chief like it is interested of him
He was captured abroad the Keyship in Halo Uprising temporarily.
Technically he should have got it 
Being briefly captured by the enemy and being held as a POW are two very different things.
Master Chief has been captured but never held as a prisoner.
I think he should get a “John-117 = Super cool guy” medal that gives him a pass to free anything anywhere at any time. Because you know, he kind of saved the entire galaxy, like what 5 times?
I think that was just 343’s way of ending the demo. I don’t think it’ll actually happen in the game.

so he was captured by gravemind and that’s correct … but when the rebels captured him ? … I guess when he was too young ?!
and the rebels thing was stuck in my mind after Halo Wars and I just keep thinking why not to fight them in a Halo game as the Chief or any other character like Spartans and ODSTs ? … they’re going to be so much fun

This. If he should’ve been awarded it, it would’ve been then.
He is now held as a prisoner by the Didact as shown in the new launch trailer which means if he gets out alive he should get a POW medallion.
I think it would be pretty awesome if he was awarded it by the end of Halo 4, or even at the end of Halo 6.
