Will Blue Team be okay?

I haven’t worried about fictional characters in a long time, but given how badly the UNSC got its butt handed to it before Infinite and that John’s now travelling alone, I’m worried Shadows of Reach is gonna kill off Fred, Kelly, and Linda. Given that the banished are still strong enough to win against the UNSC at Zeta Halo, whatever deaths they’d get wouldn’t make much of a difference.

They wouldn’t dare kill off Thel, and we know Halsey lives to see Reach’s reterraformation, so these are the only characters I’m really worried about. I’m worried this is gonna be another Black Team/ur-Didact/Mdama situation. I got into Halo through the books first. I love these characters.

343 have made questionable choices, but killing off Blue Team, especially after their pisspoor showing in 5, would be the stupidest thing they could do right now in terms of the expanded universe. People whose thoughts I respect have gotten the book early and nobody has mentioned anything this negative (or anything really bad) happening.

Theyll probably just be in story jail for a while.

I agree! I think they learned their lesson in having characters such as Juul Mdama being killed immediately and even in a cutscene. With characters as important and fleshed out as Blue team, I think that they are 100% safe.

In fact, I think Halo Infinite will be an ever-evolving game with new chapters being released to freshen up the community. I mean, no pun intended, the story and lore potential on the ring is Infinite and I have a feeling 343 knows it and will take full advantage of introducing new characters while bringing in old ones. If not now, then in the future.

Right, the name Infinite implies this… not game. App, will be the future of Halo storytelling for the next good while, the way MCC is the platform for all past games. Still waiting for a game about Thel though. The “See you on Sanghelios” in the H5G credits instead of the usual “starside” set my expectations pretty high.

My only concern, and this wouldn’t make sense at all to off any of blue team in a very limited access short story, is that there will be a copy of the book that includes a short story titled Sacrifice. I don’t think Blue Team will be in any danger in that personally, but I think it has some worth being mentioned.

Shadow Of Reach is coming out, which means that blue team is with master chief on reach.

Yes thank you that is specifically what I’m talking about.

ohhhh im sorry, i thought you said where is blue team instead of what will happen to them

It will be great to see Blue Team getting their own DLC campaign levels in the upcoming Halo Infinite. I can also see Blue Team getting their own spin off video game that is set before Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite.

If blue team is going to be killed off it probably wont be in a book

I’d imagine this coming to fruition after the halo series is brought to its conclusion. A nice 4-player co op campaign while continuing the multiplayer same as halo has.

Well, the Rookie died in a book…

I think that’s different. Yes, he was a character, but I don’t think he was a character important to the story of halo. He was mostly a blank ODST that allowed characters to decide his personality for themselves. Blue team has defined personalities, like buck and the rest of Alpha-nine. Plus, killing the rookie might have been to avoid meeting his character again later in the games. It would just be weird if noble six survived reach for example, and we met him as MC. This is because so many different people have so many different ideas of what he’s like.

That is true, Blue team has been canon since the beginning of Halo…

The Chief has gone on plenty of missions without Blue Team (the Halo trilogy, for example). Just because we haven’t seen them in Halo: Infinite as of yet, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. The Chief and Brohammer could very well be on a seperate mission to Blue Team.

Giving the direction of previous games and their
unsatisfactory ends i believe they are gonna kill most of the characters we see in halo 4 and 5

You don’t have to be worried about that. Nobody in Blue Team is dying. It is a foolhardy choice to repeatedly tell your audience over and over again that SoR is not required reading for H:I only to say at the last second a major character dies.

I bet you it not even going to be any Spartan, it gonna be an entirely left field that nobody would notice. I say the Sacrifice short book is about Roland.

Considering just how terrible and inconsistent Infinite’s story will be, my greatest fear of Blue Team not being present might even come true.

While they will probably be absent from the main plot, it’s always possible to see them return in DLC. As support or even playable. Lots of options with Infinite being the 10-year plan.

i suggest you take a look at this video/review of the Shadows of Reach. Story takes place 1 year after the events of H5
