Due to 343 saying that Halo Infinite will focus on Chief, do you think that means 343 could remove Blue Team? I’d really like it if they were secondary characters, with focus still on John. After having them in Halo 5, albeit they weren’t well written or given good screentime, and removing them for the sake of focus on Chief, seems like the extreme shift of change/response to feedback 343’s gotten with Halo 4 and 5. I might be just babbling about nonsense at the moment however.
Otherwise, I’m intrigued and fascinated for the next chapter.
I’d like for them to be around, but you know 343 Industries and their tendency to pretty much drop what isn’t immediately successful and pretend it never happened.
Just depends on the story they’ve decided to tell, and whether or not it makes sense for Chief to have a team with him. I could see it going either way, but I doubt they’ll play a central role given the backlash. They may just make an appearance for the sake of continuity. I’d prefer to not have any AI teammates again, though (save a mission or two). They inevitably get in the way no matter how “smart” they are. If there are other marines I’d like them to appear the way they did in the original trilogy (and how they did in today’s demo). The fewer characters around me in games like these the better, because it means a minimum of cheesy dialogue and a chance to just focus on the experience of exploring the world.
It’s too early to tell I suppose, but I personally hope Blue Team will be joining Chief in Infinite. I remember someone from 343 (I believe it was Frankie) saying that the cooperative mode introduced in Halo 5 would return, but this was said right around the time Halo 5 came out, so I don’t know if that still stands or not (I don’t even remember the source). My personal hope is that it does still stand and that Kelly, Fred, and Linda will return alongside Chief in Infinite.
That, and that Infinite continues where Halo 4 left off on Chief’s personal journey of discovering his humanity are my two hopes for this game.
And that we see a proper sendoff to the MK VI MOD armour, just because I like that armour. But alas, it looks like we play the waiting game indefinitely.

No its not. I want them back in a way that further develops their characters, not just for the sake of it. Where did you get that idea from? Your response is the kind that irks me, because it assumes what I’ve not said just so you can say something a little rude.
From interviews I’ve seen with folks from 343 and the general consensus in the community, I think the squad-based campaign we saw in Halo 5 is going to be ditched entirely or at least scaled back quite a bit. So I think Blue Team will play a significantly smaller role in Infinite than they did in H5.
Now, fighting along a squad of UNSC Marines? Sign me up.

> I personally wouldn’t care if they disappeared. Their characters were written horribly in Halo 5 and if they do return I want to see them sidelined.
i agree, this appears to go in the complete opposite direction which I am excited about.
While I can say they had poor character development, not seeing Blue team or Fireteam Osiris in Halo Infinite would make me scratch my head a bit, they’ll probably be a book about it, maybe we’ll see later on
They’ll probably be there just a lot less screen time compared to halo 5. Maybe thrown into some cinematic clips between missions and then they’ll break off from Master Chief to go do separate missions. I’m sure if they follow this route they’ll have a book to cover what the rest of blue team is doing while the game covers the Chief

> I’d say they’re gone in terms of being playable. We might see them once or twice but this is definitely Chief’s game.
Exactly this. It didn’t go well the first time around. They tried, it didn’t work. I’ll give them props for trying and moving on with what fails. They, I think, need to have something in the narrative addressing why they’re missing, but I’m hoping they aren’t playable. I play to be Chief. I have that emotional bond of over a decade of Halo playing as Chief. Give me Chief.
I’m sure that no matter how much they want to, 343 can’t just drop Kelly, Linda, and Fred, they simply have too much history with John. 30 years of war? Fighting together since they were fifteen? They don’t need to be a big part of infinite but they at least need some recognition. A small scene, a flashback, a death explanation. Anything. I wouldn’t be disappointed if John just has a flashback of the rest of blue team being pummeled by a Banished Jiralhanae and that’s the end of it.
I hope they don’t dump them out completely, they deserve better but they tend to drop out things that don’t work at the beginning i think they just need to be more fleshed out and not completely side lined but maybe cutscenes or one or two tag along like Johnson, or a Linda sniping a elite saving chief and being able to rendezvous with them and then go to separate missions again. Chief being alone just felt like artificial loneliness it starts to get old
I hope they’re not in the main campaign. Their character development wasn’t just bad in Guardians, it was practically nonexistent. There was just way too much going for those who didn’t read the books to get a good feel for who they are. I would much rather they be missing from the initial campaign but receive a campaign dlc that focuses on and explores them as characters later.
