Im keen to play the H5 Beta coming up end of the year like most of you. MCC online does not work for me, Ive yet to play one matchmade game (connection fails or timeouts etc). Ive kept my patience due to knowing that it will grant me access to the beta but cant help wonder if that will even go smoothly… Am I doomed to having 343 not only fail MCC but H5 beta also? Thoughts?
I’m not sure how separated the H5 and MCC teams are but I’m sure with what has happened the lead devs won’t let the beta go live if it’s not ready. Also, MCC as a whole is a massive project whereas the beta should be more confined and with less room for mishap.
Let’s cross our fingers.
I think the problems seen in the MCC arise from:
Server Issues, cramming 5 different engines into one UI, porting old games onto completely different hardware and problems with that 15GB patch they had to release.
Most of these should not be a problem for the H5 Beta, and they should have their servers nicely optimised by December.
The MCC doesn’t even work, how can anyone expect the H5 beta to work? You probably won’t be able to get to the extras area in the MCC to start playing it.

Thanks for some positive feedback, I bought an xbox one exclusively for H5 Beta & MCC and so far even after all the patches have not yet played my 1st multiplayer game due to servers, bugs etc… So feeling very disappointed overall. Did not enjoy Reach or Halo4 so unfortunately this could be the end of a memorable journey if unable to get MCC going & beta a flop. Will return the xb1 and forget about consoles should no resolve occur by new calendar. @343; liking the direction your taking H5, sceptical about sprint with the fact it affecting map scale, barge I hope is not a 1 hit kill but would prefer its gone altogether. Not a fan of vehicles or BTB, H4 was far too focused on this style of gameplay so please keep H5 as an arena FPS.
They spent all that time thinking “should we” when they should of been thinking “could we”. I hope to god it runs properly.
I have doubts since they can’t even get the foundation of MCC working. I suspect the Halo 5 beta maybe delayed since they have problems trying to fix MCC.
