Ben Giraud is currently imprisoned at Midnight Facility, the Halo equivalent of Guantanamo Bay. I’m curious if Ben will ever get out of there. What do you think?
I’m sure Cortana lets him out. There’s no reason to keep him there. I doubt she considers him as threath either.
As long as he is not forgotten entirely by 343 then I say there is a chance he will get out.
On second thought, perhaps he has a chance to escape after Cortana Emp’d the galaxy.

She has no real reason to let him out either, though. If anything, Cortana would make use of Midnight Facility for her own ends.
Given her MO in h5, she’d probably just shoot him.
But I don’t see why she’d let a whistle-blower out. Why wouldn’t he just reveal flaws in her ‘perfect’ society?
I would honestly be more worried about him getting out of his own mind at the moment.

If she still thinks herself as better than humans and the solution to humanitys faults I can see her releasing those who were fighting the system. I have no doubt she would use it for her opposition and people like Halsey. Though for her she might have something even worse.

She could easily be arrogant and do so. I mean who could hide anything from AI’s when it comes to information networks. Maybe she makes a deal with him to use him as a propaganda tool. I’m sure he would do anything to get out at some point.

Although she certainly has the ability to release him utilizing the domain and the other AI’s, I don’t believe she’s reached midnight yet. If anything Midnight’s resident AI may let him go. If ONI handled it like they did with the AI’s at HIGHCOM, then they may have self-terminated or purged them.

Unless she tried to turn him into an agent of her own to use against ONI. He knows what ONI did, and people saw him get debunked (or so they think) before him.
Cortana can use him as a figure head…
Or possibly, the AI that was once Maya Sankar might decide she wants nothing to do with ONI now, throw her lot in with Cortana, and let Ben free because she’s AN UBER SPACE GOD NOW

Guantanamo Bay isn’t even that bad. ESPECIALLY if you compare it to Midnight Facility

Maybe when he is really old?
Even if he manages to escape there’s no telling if he’ll ever be the same Ben that we got to know through the series. the last few times he’s visited he’s already cracking and if I recall correctly they had to deploy a knockout gas to prevent him from hurting himself.That coupled with the revelation about Fero is probably enough to sent him over the edge. So if he does manage to escape he may be too far gone and have completely lost his mind.
Just compose him and throw him into the domain, that’ll cure him.
