That is somewhat incorrect. While it is true that Armour Abilities are out, and that there are new Spartan Abilities, they are not a replacement. Spartan Abilities is a general term for anything any player can do, like vehicle boarding, dual wielding, etc. We don’t know what exactly they’ll be, but since Halo 5’s multiplayer is meant to be showed off on November 10th, I’m sure we’ll be finding out soon enough.

You know that one “Spartan Ability”, where it seems like one player thruster packs forwards and slams into another? I think that is going to replace the melee lunge that’s been in Halo since 2. Like, instead of the melee animation being one player teleporting to the target and hitting them with the butt of their rifle, they’re actually tackle the player instead.

No. There are no more Armour Abilities. But there will now be Spartan Abilities that everyone can do. But I’m not sure what they are yet. But they might be some of the new things we saw in the trailer.
