It’s sounding like this game is going to be pretty large. I’m still using an original xbox from launch and I don’t have a whole lot of room left on it. I’m debating on getting the new LE Xbox coming out with Halo 4, but I don’t know if it would be worth it since this console generation is nearing its end.
20gb for halo 4? That should do it.
Depends on if the spartan ops are included in that 8 gigs for multiplayer they stated.
Pros: halo 4 coming out and getting the all the bonus content and console and limited edition.
Cons: once getting home and wanting to tare into it and have to wait two hours for everything to load up…
Haha maybe a few years ago that would be the case. Unfortunately I work 12 hour days for 11 days in a row then 3 off now, and November 6th isn’t one of my days off. I’ll probably just download while I’m at work.
Got me a 120gb hd not too long ago when my 20 gb was full. The slim one imo isn’t worth it when my old one is still working plus the console nearing its end.

The eight gigabytes are reserved for everything multiplayer. In other words, it includes Spartan Ops as well as the future multiplayer maps.
Ah, I wish they just made the new LE 120 gig and lowered the price. 400 bucks is pretty steep for a console this old. I could afford it easily, but I’m pretty cheap lol.

Agree I could use that $400 somewhere more important.

It’s a special edition, high price should be expected. But why don’t you consider a new hard drive? I bought a 120GB one from ebay a while ago for 40 euros which is about 50 bucks. And looking at them in general, they are sold pretty cheap these days. Alternatively, you can buy a 16GB USB stick which should have enough space for everything Halo 4 has to offer. It’s a real shame the limited edition Xbox is pricey, but you most certainly don’t need to run out of HDD space.
If your Xbox still works then I don’t see the point of getting a new one. Just get a new HDD, it’ll be cheaper.
Would using an HD cord make it look better than the regular cables? I’ve never been sure on that. My xbox doesn’t have the slot for an HD cable.

It makes a world of difference. Assuming you have an HD TV, of course.

My original xbox doesn’t have a hdmi slot either, but you can still use the HD avi cable it does the same thing just with a little more wires. Mine came with my original xbox.
I don’t even think Skyrim is 20 gigs.
Each Xbox disc is around 7 to 8 gigs and installing I doubt uses it all.
You should be fine

The component cable is only able to transmit resolutions of up to 720p. But it probably doesn’t matter anyway as very few Xbox games even get to 720p, most fall to sub-HD resolutions. But if you have the option for HD resolutions, I totally recommend it. Too often have I seen people with a TV perfectly capable of HD resolutions saying that they’re fine with the low resolution image, but as soon as I have showed them how the game looks with a HDMI cable, they all have loved it.
Yeah I have a 55" 1080i tv and I’ve heard the cables can cause a bit of lag. Not sure if it’s true or not. I have an hd cable my buddy gave to me so it might help me decide to upgrade my 360.

It really depends. If your HDTV makes image processing to make the picture look better (and it probably does), using a HDMI cable might cause delay in the signal. In other words, it will lag. A whole another thing is is this delay long enough to actually matter to you. In case it isn’t, you’re fine with using a regular cable. In case it is, you should check does your TV have a VGA cable connector (it should) and buy a xbox 360 VGA cable. So, it’s really all up to you.
Ah sorry, I meant do the normal cables cause lag on an HD tv.

You have a 20gb HDD and you can use about 13gb.
Halo 4 will require minimum 8gb and that leaves you with 5gb left.
They are going to release map packs and they will probably be around 800mb-1.2gb and we know there’s going to be at least 3 map packs. I don’t know if they counted the map packs that they are going to release in the feature when they said 8gb though.
Installing the game will speed up the loading times. You can’t really do that.
That doesn’t leave you with much space for other games.
I’d say you should upgrade. Not only because of the space but your Xbox is an older version and it probably sounds like a jetplane. You also get WiFi with the new Slim model and the new (nintendo) buttons on the 2 controllers.
Go for the new Xbox!
> Ah sorry, I meant do the normal cables cause lag on an HD tv.
No it won’t cause lag but it will look like -Yoink- on the HDTV.
