Will 343i take legal action against cheat selling websites?

I ask because in the first few months of release I took screenshots of five “pump n dump” cheat selling sites offering subscriptions for halo Infinite hacks and provided a litany of gamertags, steam accounts, discord channels, and sellers legal plus nation of operation (social engineering is boring I tell ya) and…

They’re still up n running. Making money.

Perhaps the answer is to hook up Easy Anti-Cheat as in MCC?

there cant take legal actions against the cheating selling websites.
its more no company can do that.

since to do something against to need to find the people that are selling the cheats on the site.
and since there all use a lot off fake IP’s to hide there real ip is that almost not to do at all.

then if you find then by luck what is really low then is the question will the country there live if do something with it since you can name a lot off country’s that not going to help by sending the people that are sellings hacks to the country where the company is going to sue then.

to let you know activision was doing that by sue a cheating website the only problem was from the lawer from activision was that he not knows and cant find the people that are hosting that website.

They could. Will they? Probably not it should be done by the parent company if anything.

But on that note, it shouldn’t just be software that should be sued but hardware manufacturers as well, maybe even distributors.

I’m not sure how simple it is to integrate AC into games, but EAC or Battle Eye would provide an adequate buffer.

Precedence disagrees with this statement.

Activision subpoenaed everyone. This is the problem with reading only headlines you miss the whole story. The manufacturers will be unmasked given the proclivity of their operation in conjunction with major outlets.

so lets tell there have found then and know who there are.
then you still need the help from the country there are in.
and we both know there are some country’s that not going to help then at all by sending there own people to a other country.

Taking people down in the court room is not the hardest part. Getting people to the court room is what you really pay for.

Legal investigative costs are high especially when the customer is a major business. With all things in business, it should be cost-effective and forecast a positive result financially.

— Don’t do what Donny Dont Does Do—
The funny thing about so many of these subscription sellers is how easily we can illegally and unethically (compared to sanctioned methods) obtain personal information and track down seller identities. Sometimes it is as easy as going to popular cheat engine websites and finding matching account names, finding their email address and running it through google and other search methods like “am i hacked” datasets which hold ridiculous amounts of unethically obtained personal information courtesy of the bad security all our online lives lead.

—What I’m Beginning To Think Should Occur—
Send notice to the website domain provider requesting the site be decommissioned for illegal sales activity, on the assumption that the domain provider is in a nation of agreeable law.

Lmao i actually made a post about this before infinite launched

It will never happen. Cheats have always been around. I have never seen nor heard of any game developer Taking down a website for selling cheats!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

That’s if the sites themselve aren’t ran by someone who is affiliated. Might seem Farfetched but is possible.

What kind of cheats are we talking about here anyways? I commented because I can see how companies would do that as an extra type of deal for a game. I removed the mods and standby cheats in H2 but I haven’t experienced anyone cheating in infinite I don’t believe. Haven’t played it that much as well.

you know that activision only knows what from site the cheats is coming and thats all there know.

there not know the real name’s from the people that are running and selling the cheats and there never will going to know it since there use a lot off fake accounts and fake IP’s.
and there also not know what from country there are from.

so hunting down the cheat sellers is compleet waste off time.

we need to learn to deal with it that there will always be cheats.

the only thing there can do is more make it harder for the cheater player to play there game what you see in warzone from cod like bully the cheaters from there game and make it hard for then to play good the game with cheats.

like:
that normal players that use no cheats are god mode against players that use cheats and insta kill then automatic.
or option is make a cheater only lobby that if you use cheats you end more in lobby’s with other cheaters.
or there last thing that players that are using cheats cant see the other players and are ghost’s from then so that players that use cheats are get killt by ghost’s players for then.

Aimbots, see thru walls, instant kill cheats, Speed up movement, bottomless ammo. ETC ETC!

REMEMBER!! Only losers and A-Holes use cheats! and that a fact!

Side Note! Here is what it sez to users when they log on my Battlefield 2042 Server:

"This Server Bans Users that use Hax, Cheats, Racial Remarks and or Creates Hate and Discontent On User’s PERIOD!

“WE NEVER UNBAN ANYBODY PERIOD! . . . . . .DON’T TEST IT!!!”

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Makes me wish Google & Bing (If people still use Bing) actually started Taking down Multiplayer Cheat Sites on their Web but that’s just wishful thinking on my part

Considering that no-one asked you or paid you, it seems like you’ve wasted a lot of your own time and energy for a multi-million dollar company for nothing. This is one of 343i’s many messes, let them clean it up. If you have info that can help them out, trade it for $.

Yoinkies out there, I never knew it worked online play. Besides Mods and I have seen mods in years.

If it were that easy, I’m sure many companies would be filing legal action against malicious websites well before Halo Infinite came out.

It is not wasted time when I work in an industry that values my skills. I wouldn’t call it “taking work home”; I have always been interested discovering how something works, how to pull it apart and how to put it back together. I built myself a tidy little RPA bot that automatically submits tickets to halo support website for game crashes with my dxdiag output, prefilled text fields and dropdown options, plus screenshots attached just because I could

Figuring out where these sites come from and if they’re individuals or group efforts intrigues me.

If doing the detective work makes you happy keep at it. Respect where it is due. I’m just saying don’t give that info to 343i for free.

Additional tip; If you ever come across a phishing or scamming site, simply go to https://who.is/whois and run the website in the search engine. You’ll get the domain owner (a large corporation) and their complaints email address.

Send a quick email explaining they are hosting an illegal site and they will likely shut it down. Of course this does not extend to game cheat sites because cheating is against EULA not the law.

Y’all are still talking about this? The company makes the game. So how would anyone else be the ones to give the information out on how to cheat? Obviously these people are affiliated. Probably always have been since cheats became available and possibly even modding. I know people do stuff like that already but companies try to get money however they can. Having built in behind the scenes interests makes for curious audience. Whom may want to pay for said extras.

If the stuff is free, then idk maybe I over think things sometimes. Seems easy enough though.

Will 343i take legal action against cheat selling websites?

NOT IN OUR LIFETIME!!

Side note: It would be nice to have 343 download the hacks so they could to defend
against the hax!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:
