Will 343i Provide Future Updates And Patches?

I was wondering if 343i will continue to provide updates and patches for games like Halo 2 and CE.

Since CE was never released for Xbox Live (even though it’s on PC), is it possible they could add updates for it? Another thing is, if there are more bugs they want to fix in Halo 2 will the fix them with a patch?

Or will 343i be leaving the games as they were originally/ the last post update before Live was shut down?

Please let me know your opinions/ answers.

This is actually interesting to me. I don’t know. I’d also like to see some DLC, though I doubt that would happen.

When I say DLC, I don’t mean Reach or ODST. Let’s at least be somewhat realistic. I’d like to see more anniversary maps and possibly more armor for Halo 3 (seriously doubt it though).

I highly doubt it. Fixing the game will also cause many people to get angry, like what this article talks about.

Interesting article… Call me bias but I would have enjoyed it more if the author made an example relating to Halo. Anyhow you’re absolutely right… “Many people [would] ge angry,” namely me… As long as they keep the super bounces in tact in Halo 2 I’ll be fine. I do think it’s possible to see minor fixes in the form of post-release patches - ports are never perfect; but those fixes would be marginal and shouldn’t be noticeable to average players… But I’d actually prefer to see additional content, only in Halo 4, because that game’s still relatively new (and could serve to benefit from a couple tweaks).

Not even more [DLC] remastered maps for H2A?

Good question and I’ll be happy to field your inquiry… If super bounces are in, I’d love it if they release more remastered maps… But if they’re out I won’t play any of them nearly as much as the old version of Halo 2. As it stands it does not appear that the remastered maps will have super bounces, which will make them less interesting to me… But I’d still buy and play them if 343i launches more remastered maps (But I’ve always bought the latest DLC for every Halo title regardless of whether or not the DLC really appealed to me).

I hope balance patches are not included. I wouldn’t mind if there were DLC maps put out (for any of the Halo games) but patches and updates to the balance, no.

In that sense, the game is a finished product because we aren’t looking for anything other than what we already know we’ve got.

Im glad someone has the same amount of love for super bouncing as I do.

I don’t think they would fix anything unless they found it to be “ruining” the matchmaking experience. For example if somehow somebody was able to have host advantage or standby I would expect that kind of glitch to be patched, but a super bounce I don’t think will.

halo 2 players will be upset if 343 tries to clean up the mess, and they already said they’re not going to fix or change anything
