Ever since the Halo Infinite Campaign levels price revealed on both Steam and Xbox, could we see 343 Industries consider making the Halo Infinite campaign levels as a free to play like the Halo Infinite Multiplayer levels currently have?
No, No no, no, just no.
Why?
Well why the hell should I buy the game if people get the campaign for free?
I’m already angry that I have to pay full price for campaign only without co-op or forge, so in this case campaign isn’t even worth the 60~70€. But for sure, they will never give it out free. They would make so many people angry if some had to pay for everything and some would get it free.
Maybe like…6 years down the line if the additional campaign content is paid and halo infinite hasn’t died by then. Allowing new players to enjoy the older campaign content without having to fork out like 200 bucks.
But any time soon? No. The 60 dollar price tag is questionable as is, and making it free too soon is going to piss off everyone who bought it.
Furthermore, it just incentivizes 343 to add microtransactions to campaign too because they “have to do it because its free”.
People annoyed by the price tag aren’t asking for the campaign to be free, but rather that it shouldn’t be priced so high (and in some regions, priced as the most expensive halo title due to lack of regional pricing), not that the campaign should be free.

The reason why I am saying this is because the more I think about the Halo Infinite campaign levels, I feel like 343 Industries should consider another option. And that is making the Halo Infinite campaign levels as a free to play especially for the main storylines. Maybe the Halo Infinite story expansions or DLC campaign levels can be considered for paying full price on both Steam and Xbox?

They aren’t giving it out for free if you buy the game or have Game Pass. It’s something that would extremely help the game which in return leads to micro-transaction revenue.

You mention the Halo Infinite price. There is a website called Windows Central. It’s a website that talk about Xbox especially the upcoming Halo Infinite. Apparently they talk about the Halo Infinite price. They say don’t pre-order Halo Infinite. I can understand from what they say about the new Halo video game especially since there is concern about the price. Hopefully 343 Industries can find a way to lower down the Halo Infinite price on both Steam and Xbox.
What!? have people gone crazy or something? Multiplayer is free, now you want campaign to be free? If the price too high, try out gamepass?
No. How would they make any money by giving out pretty much the entire game for free?
No, I mean, that is not fair to those that purchase the game and pay Gamepass, I prefer that all campaign will not free. MP is enough
I mean… You’re paying to play a new release game… Where do people get off thinking everything should be free?
It’s already free for game pass holders

Microtransactions.
“Free games” these days often make more money than buy to play games.
That said, I’d rather the campaign stay buy to play, to avoid such toxic and predatory business practices from affecting halo’s last bastion of good game design.

if the campaign is free, how will I earn money?
DLC additions to the game? Would be nice if they were free. But I’ll still pay if I have to, no worries there.
The campaign itself? No, it should not be free. The devs have to make money not just for their own benefit of being paid for their work, but they have to hit a certain quota for the ones who are supporting them so they continue to get that support for future projects. If you make something free, then that quota will never be achieved in an acceptable time frame. Which means they will lose support and the game will likely be shut down or handed off to someone else.

10$ > 60$ for a month of campaign gameplay. Assuming you’re already not a current game pass sub.
pretty solid experience for 10$ If you’re skeptical
I mean with how this game is looking to be, it should all be free tbh. So should all of 343’s Halo games, should never have to pay for them lol.
No.
This is a live service game, so they’re undoubtedly going to charge around $30 for story expansions just like every other live service game (Destiny, World of Warcraft, Overwatch)
Charging $60 for the game, turning around making it free, then charging somewhere around $30 for story expansions would just piss everyone off.
