Will 343 leave Halo 5 to die next year?

I’m scared for Halo 5s future…Not because of player population or something like that…

I’m scared for Halo 5 because I believe 343 will abandon Halo 5 after June 2016 the date they’ve promised support up to…

They gave up on TMCC and I’m afraid they may do the same to this game and then to Halo 3 anniversary in 2018/2019 due to Halo 6…

Is anyone else thinking the same thing?..

I’d love to see this game supported as much as it is right now up until the inevitable release of Halo 3 Anniversary in the next couple years…

After a certain point it will cost more than they get in return to make these updates. I really hope this goes on for longer because it is great but I can understand if they do abandon it. Maybe have an update every 2 months instead?

MCC was a lost cause from from the get-go. Halo 5 isn’t - that’s the difference.

This post is literally just speculation extrapolated from more speculation. Pointless to discuss further.

Bro you’re soo cool.

That’s very, very unlikely. Why? The amount of money they are getting from REQ packs is a lot. As long as REQs create income you can expect to see halo 5 support last till at least 2017.

This is either a poor attempt at seeking attention, or a thoughtless assumption. Thinking they will stop making a game that at the very least is making them very wealthy, and is already under development is bordering on insanity. Even if certain members quit someone else would be hired in their place to help finish the game. There is no chance everyone in the company is going to say, “well… That’s it. We’re done”.

If this is an attempt to say 343 has done a poor job with the series just outright say it rather than eluding to it by outlandish speculation. Personally I think the only thing 343 hasn’t done to Halo standard, with the games they made, is the music. Lack of Marty O Donnel really hurts the Halo feel. Otherwise, especially with Halo 5, I feel they are doing a great job.

Master Chief Collection is inexcusable on the multiplayer side of things, but the campaigns play well. Perhaps at some point they will take greater responsibility for MCC’s multiplayer failure, and release a new program for free. It’s pretty clear the coding is really messed up to the point it would make more sense to start from scratch.

I say, “take more responsibility” in the sense that I believe they realize the failure, however the first 3 games are so special that to not correct it to standard is unacceptable even with Halo 4, and 5 being excellent games (I believe they are excellent). If you can’t, or are unwilling, to complete something (i.e. resolve MCC ) don’t release the game in the first place.

These updates can’t cost much more than Spartan Ops which spanned 10 weeks. I don’t think it’s hurting them much financially considering the game I’m sure is still selling well through the holidays.

It really depends how much longer people keep buying REQ packs.
