Will 343 fix this?????

This makes the game TOTALLY frustrating and almost unplayable…

Lazy link.

I came here expecting to read a rage post and lulz to myself.

Instead I was treated to a helpful video link.

So, thanks you two

You say its unplayable yet I’m playing the game absolutely fine. There is no bug or glitch here.

Didn’t even bother with finishing the video. The aiming on Halo 5 is fine, has been fine since release. I don’t have any issues whatsoever.

To be really honest, I play a lot better on H5 compared to other Halo games.

If you finished the video you would understand what is wrong with aiming in this game. It was an unnecessary change. Is my aim bad? No, not at all. I just find the mechanics regarding aim inconsistent and jittery at times. No other FPS has such an odd aiming mechanic.

Being good at the game does not mean nothing is wrong with it, and being bad at the game does not mean it’s broken. In this case, the aiming is not necessarily broken (not anymore anyway) but flawed. Why did they change something that worked perfectly?

Thanks guys for the video!

I think that these types of analyses are important so that people can understand the mechanics of aiming better and then use that info to decide on HOW to set up controllers best for them.

Whether you agree aiming is better or worse from previous HALO’s is moot, having this info and then using it wisely is the real point.

I know I am now going to perform some of my own setting “tests” in a custom game and see how I can adapt the settings to my play style and reflexes.

Please keep up these type of informative posts!

Agreed totally completely screws the game for me. Thanks for the video though ha make it a lot better but still not right. A lot of halo fans I know stopped playing because of the aiming.

So am I safe to say that 343 hasn’t mention anything about giving us an option to completely turn of acceleration?

anymore? people make way to big of a deal. You adjust it for you, it was never broken, or flawed. It is just different. It works differently, and you now have the power to change how it works, so use it, no problem…right?

Lower your aim accel to 1 and it is virtually gone. Also the inconsistency your are experiencing is the fact that halo 5 has a lot lower aim assist compared to most other games. It doesn’t hold your hand and give you kills when reticle is aiming 10 feet in the wrong direction.

No, it’s not virtually gone… and if you turn it to 1, you can’t even turn the F around. So, you are forced to turn the sens up to 6 or 7+… and now you can’t stay on target further than 15 feet in front of you. The beta aimed like Halo 4/95% of all other shooters and they changed something NO ONE asked for.

They gave you all the tools to adjust a terrible aiming system… but they didn’t give you the option to do what everyone wanted… the ability to turn it completely off. So that’s great they gave us a Band-Aid for a leaky pipe. So it’s great that the kitchen floor is no longer flooded, but the floors are still rotted and it smells like shyt.

For me, it’s SO frustrating that it’s unplayable… especially since I was in the Beta and saw how this game could be with a normal functioning aiming system. Check out the Beta videos, on Youtube, and see how smooth the game play/aiming system was.

Did they ever say why they changed it from the beta/previous versions of the game?

Internal “Pros” input. Want to gear it towards E-Sports… :frowning:

If you turn your deadzones down to 0% and look acceleration to 1 most of the time you wont end up having random acceleration in your aim unless you purposely peg your stick from my experience. In fact sometimes I turn my outer deadzone from 0 to around 5-10 because it just feels way too slow because of that now. But even so aim is still very inconsistent from game to game

I think people forget what the Beta aiming looked like. Here is a reminder…

See how he snaps the reticule around and is able to “estimate” where is target is (and make adjustments)?

This is what regular aiming is suppose to be like. Pros can still dominate this gameplay (just like any other console FPS in history).

Several people provide 100% true, video evidence clearly showing that the aiming is broken.

People still deny it.
