The main purpose of them was for the disaster challenge for Recon. And now that Recon will be free, these achievements will be a waste of time.
They won’t be a waste of time, they will show the effort you put into them to earn them, it is like saying any other achievement is worthless, including the original Vidmaster in Marathon because you get no reward for it.
The Vidmasters will stay, they will always be optional, you just don’t get Recon for it now.
If you really have your pants in that big of a knot, why not complete the achievments before equipping it. Hell, I’m sure you can find some people who still do that. Otherwise, stop crying.
