Don’t you think it would be cool if at one point in the campaign you had to pick up a jackal sheild to get by some turrents or somethin. you could even use pistols and other duel weildable weapons. if deul weildin is even back. I kinda jope its not but i still think that it would be cool though.
Jackal Shields would barely protect a spartan.
i would much rather rip the plating of a hunters arm and use it to block some incoming fire

Some of the smaller SIII’s can use Jackal shields in the books, so why not? Just because it cant cover an SII’s or maybe SIV’s entire body doesn’t mean its useless.
Fun fact they used the technology of the jackal shields to make the shields for MJOLNIR armor.
OT: that would be cool during a mission, dont think it would protect him much though.
i guess i picture a jackal shield as a buckler and the hunter shield as a tower shield… it would be weird seeing a roman legionnaire with a dainty buckler.(yes i am making a metaphor here)

Haha, it sure would be a great addition to use either Jackal or Hunter shield, although only with an side-arm as weapon for balance purposes. Though I doubt it will happen, if it was “easy” to make (cannon wise) we’d already have it ^^

The hunter shield is mounted on to the hunters arm, have fun trying to take that thing off in the heat of battle, not to mention it probably weighs more then a gravity hammer which I’m pretty sure even SII’s find really heavy.

Are you kidding me? Jackal shields last a few seconds under fire, also they are light, a spartan could easily sprint with it. Also its to small to protect a spartans entire side even when crouching, in Ghosts of ONYX an SIII about I think around 5ft is the perfect size to fit behind one while crouching.

the chief and a few marines standing in a room they just cleared. there is a scientist and her young child that were trapped in the facility. the chief realizes they wont make it, cortana then comes on teeing him its not his fault. chief simply replies
“no… its not”
he then walks to the corner of the room and rips the shield of a hunter and walks to the door and simply says
“lets go”
the doors open and a hail of fire starts coming out, after a few seconds the building behind you gets hit by wraith fire. through the hail of fire you get a single side arm (a pistol or smg). you make it to a trench as the marines around you are mowed down. the chief tells the woman and child
“wait here”
and then raises his battle rifle and runs up. -end scene

Or scoop out the eels and just wear the armour
or maybe they can use it to deflect or block sniper bullets or something…?
I remember back when people wanted the Jackal shield each time a new Halo game was being worked on. Now hardly anyone wants one…very interesting.
OT: I think it would be cool to use even if it’s just an armor ability.
