Whyvprestiging in halo 4 is NOT bad

So its been shown at the panel that you can go through the progression system 10 times, which basiclly means prestiging, i already know the response “0MgZ Hal0Z Iz BEcoMiN C0D TimE tO rAGe!!!”

Well heres the truth, theres also things called specialisations, this is speculation but people belive this means if you choose the " gunner " specialisation, it means you will unlock CQC weapons and armor mods that help CQC combat better. If this is true i could easily make a way for this to work.

Regular ranks: select one specialization

Prestige: keep your original unlocks but you MUST select another specialization.

So no matter what you do your allways unlocking more content regardless of what prestige you are.
And these specialization cannot be mixed.
Simple

Then the specialization systtem is inherently broken because if you get the LE of 4, you get 6 automatically.

It doesn’t affect gameplay so there’s no issue for me. I can’t really think of any reasons as not to have it.

Where is your proof?

Until I am proven otherwise, you are reset pack to level 1, all of your previous perks and weapons are relocked, and you are given a little bit of a bonus. This is able to be done 10 times.

I think rank resetting is a pretty dumb idea, anyway. I don’t want to put all of my work into a game just to start it all over again.

> Then the specialization systtem is inherently broken because if you get the LE of 4, you get 6 automatically.

False, you get 6 Spartan Points. What you do with those Spartan Points is up to you.

read it and weep.

So, you want us to lose everything once we get another level and have to fight for it all over again? That’s just repetitive. Imagine prestiging: you are where you want to be, but you get another kill. You get gunned down and lose everything you just had.

Doesn’t sound fun to me.

If this “prestige” ability is true then they better have an option to not “prestige” the idea of getting to the highest rank just so you can do it all over again is not neccesary and although there is nothing neccesarily “wrong” with it, it seems to me like 343 is just trying to get a negative reaction from veteran Halo players by implememting COD features into Halo 4…IMO

give the casuals what they want.

Well you told me to read it and weep, so here it goes.

:’(

I feel bad for those getting the standard edition.

"These are quick notes I took as they were talking. I will clarify/elaborate when I get back to my room since my battery is almost dead.
Pressing concerns though:

specializations: they said nothing about resetting your rank (since you’re comparing it to prestiges). It allows you to get exclusive emblems, armor mods and the like. It It allows you to specialize into whatever fits your playstyle.
To those talking about the max level caps, Frankie (I believe) once mentioned that there will be multiple ranking systems. (progression and skill I assume)
There was a miscommunication that led to you being told you could use pistol while running flag. I did not see anything of the sort.

that’s it for now. Ill read and clarify what I know, which is not much on terms of detail. "

This was an update from the source that originally posted about specializations - As you can see, he denies that there is prestiges and also clarifies some stuff which we were unsure about. Link is here. (Update on 2nd Page)

hence the Phrase “Inherently” broken. but its all to piss of veterans and give casuals and flavor of the month players a way to make themselves feel better, just like hidden ranks.

People like you who call people like him “casuals” make me sick.

The idea of “Prestige” is great for replay value (Please, tell me, who hasn’t done a second acount for playing a game again, e.x. Halo 3?). People where complaining because if you are Inheritor in Reach you get nothing (except a helmet) and this is a nice idea, many games have “adopted” this idea and it’s great.

So, before anyone else responds this, you may have ask yourselfs this: “Why we don’t just wait until they (343i) talks more deep about this thing?”

PD: I’m Mexican, sorry if they are any mistakes.

In CoD, you choose if you want to prestige.

Now this is what I call shellshock.

“Prestiges…in…HALO?”

Strange since there is another link to Frankie saying the pistol/flag combo is more about not feeling helpless then simply running around and getting pistol kills…

I think that you are getting things way to serious. Chill out. I think that in here you can choose to specialize or not, like any other game. Jeez. You are making a great deal about this.

Sorry, Stahl. I’ve not played any of the new CoDs, only 1-3. I know he basics of prestiging, and I think it’s utterly limited, but then again the fans of CoD typically are just that.

Specialization UNLOCKS MORE ARMOR MODS AND CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS. so you are -Yoinked!- if you dont.
