Why?!?!

Why are 343i focusing on giving people recon for Halo 3, when they should be making more playlists with Zero Bloom in them. Seriously, they have 3 different settings for gameplay, make everything TU, put Zero Bloom into Arena, and stop worrying about giving people stuck in the past pointless things. /rant

343 is doing a nice thing by giving out Recon to everyone. After March 31st, Bungie.net will no longer support Halo stats and that includes the ‘Road to Recon’ button. It’s better that everyone get’s recon than to seal it off forever. And they aren’t going to make everything TU, there are many people who like vanilla Reach better.

Yes, because giving people something that everyone has had a chance to obtain for years now is much more important than the game they update monthly…

while TU does belong in all playlists, ZB does not belong in arena. I love ZB but it makes the DMR too precise and can break reach hit detection under bad networking circumstances. They should open up a zb FFA and a zb objective to see how they do, but keep zb out of normal MM.

What are you talking about? They still updated the playlists and unlocking Recon did not stop them from adding more playlists.

I’m sure they time they spent unlocking recon for all was minimal compared to the monthly updates that they do develop, test, and roll out.

Sure, they added playlists no one wanted, took away the ones the community liked, and refuse to acknowledge that multiple community sites have requested an MLG FFA playlist. Unlocking recon for Halo 3 is pointless, as pointless as removing jetpack from arena for the 4th or 5th time when we all know they are just gonna throw it back in next month.

“Removing jetpack from the Arena for the 4th or 5th time” …what? This is one of the first updates TO Arena and certainly the first removing jetpack. Not sure where you’re getting that info from…

As for MLG, that’s up to MLG, not 343.

They’re focusing on that because it’s one of the last initiation processes before Bungie releases all of the Halo rights to 343i. It has much more to do with Bungie than 343, however 343 isn’t going to fix the Halo 3 servers that hold the Vidmaster information and People v. Bungie info giving recon to specific players.

Therefore, now everyone can have recon.

Also, if you’ve been listening, they have been updating playlists still. Read the news before posting a complaint on the forums.

They are doing it because its better then no one ever getting it again, so get over it, its a game, and Recon is a non required piece of a game. Also, post this the Halo 3 forums, not Reach.

I know for a fact that jetpack was removed and put back in twice, in the first 6 months of this games release. I stopped playing for a while so I just guessed they did it some more.

During the first six months of Reach’s release, Matchmaking was entirely under Bungie’s control. 343i’s latest update to Arena is, to the best of my knowledge, their first.

As others have said, it’s highly unlikely that unlocking Recon had any effect on setting up the playlist updates. I don’t think they would even have the same people work on both, when one is a server/management issue and the other concerns game design.

Different people in control doesn’t change the fact that jetpack was removed and added multiple times already. The fact that 343i is doing it now only shows they didn’t pay attention the first time around, and since half of 343i is former Bungie employee’s there is a good chance it’s the same person making this decision(I don’t know for sure).

As for recon, no one seems to understand that it is pointless. Everyone looks at it as an act of kindness, when it serves no purpose. Who ever is still playing Halo 3 most likely already has it or doesn’t care.

You’re making a lot of assumptions without any facts to back it up.

Vic DeLeon
Chad Armstrong
Frank O’ Connor

Those are the only 343i employees which used to work at Bungie to my knowledge, if not that, it is only a couple more.

No there are a few people who like vanilla, and a whole lotta people who don’t care and have no idea what vanilla/TU are.
